I tried a shake down cruise yesterday with my brand new Hobie Mirage Outback. I found that the rudder control handle moves stiffly. Plus the up and down pulleys only work if I repeatedly tug on them. How do I repair this?

Do you have to take the plug out when your out of the water like on bass boats?

There are drain plugs at the stern of the kayak that can be used for draining purposes, but certainly watch them until water drains out and thread them in immediately so you don't forget to put them in for the next outing.
