When you identify which link is the center link - just mark it with a sharpie so you can easily assemble without trying to keep your eye on the correct link (which is like playing the shell game)

why is there a bicycle chain there? one turn of the cable around the shaft will get rid of not only the chain, but also the sprocket. which is not only cheaper but also more reliable. Greetings from Russia
