hi doctor, what a pleasure to finally read someone who talks about my illness. i discovered this disease on my left temporal artery in 2016 when i was dying from a concomitant problem with a kidney failure due to glomerulonephritis. It was terrible, having spent months in the hospital and then years with relapses and with a very young daughter with me. At first the temporal artery biopsy resulted in Kimura Syndrome but later confirmed it was Angiolinphoid Hyperplasia with eosinophilia. I took cortisone and immunosuppressants but nothing! I neither solved nor improved. I then continued my research with some trusted doctors, and I approached the use of natural anti-inflammatories that allowed me to continue a normal and healthy life, also reducing anxiety, which however remains partly due to the darkness around this disease, its course and its disorders. In Italy this disease is not talked about and nothing is understood. Happy to have at least found this video so clear (histologically). I would like to know if there are effective treatments? I notice a worsening during the menstrual cycle ... but no doctor listens to me in Italy. I would like to find people who suffer from it to confront us and doctors prepared like you . Also abroad. Thanks so much. I hope you can help me.

Should be ordering c-myc to all post radiation vascular lesions :) thx for the great video Dr.Jared.
@JMGardnerMD4 жыл бұрын
I don’t always order c-myc. Depends on the situation, how big the biopsy is, and what the clinical appearance is.

Thanks I learn so much from very video particularly with the range of cases you show. I would love to see an angiosarcoma/Kaposi's sarcoma video using slides or pathpresenter.

Great video, but I guess there is some confusion between anastomising hemangioma vs retiform hemangioendothelioma. Plz share clues to differentiate them
@JMGardnerMD4 жыл бұрын
Retiform is infiltrative. Anastomosing is well circumscribed. Here’s my video on anastomosing hemangioma. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmXGmmN_Z56rnMk

After watching so many videos about benign lesions, may I ask this question? Do you think average Joe pathologists have a tendency to overestimate malignancy? For legal reasons, for example. Is this a thing in your field? Kind regards from international viewer.

Hi, I think I have one of these on my leg, should I be worried about it? Had it for a few years however it sometimes it can be gone for a few months, then it would come back ect
@JMGardnerMD4 жыл бұрын
Please see a board certified dermatologist for an examination. They can take a look and decide if your skin lesion is something worrisome and if a biopsy is needed or not.

Thank you for a great lecture! Can you use SMA to differentiate benign hemangioma from subtle angiosarcoma? Would SMA be negative in angiosarcoma? Thanks!
@JMGardnerMD4 жыл бұрын
Great question! Theoretically yes. Many angiosarcomas lose their layer of pericytes. And most hemangiomas retain it. But I’ve seen exceptions both ways. Nothing is perfect unfortunately!
