He's so clearly broken, and not ok man. It's amazing how well he portrays it through his music, because I haven't felt this way since Daniel Johnston, and he was not ok at all. Please, take care of yourself, and don't let the 15 minutes shatter you even more bud. This art is too precious.

I thought the same thing. It’s great that tech is giving such rarities a chance to be successful. I couldn’t help but think that Johnston might of blew up if he weren’t 20+ years early. Art is the ability to provoke emotion. They both do this in such a pure way. The awkward delivery is like a kid who can’t keep their mouth shut and you’re riding the edge of annoyance and fascination. The combination of awkward cadence and framing, lyrically and musically, betrays expectations one notch more than what makes music enjoyable. Both these artists are truly special and we are all so lucky to enjoy their work.

Weird seeing this after Johnston just passing the other day. I see what you're saying to an extent but Johnston had a whole range of severe mental disorders that no matter what would have taken hold, Hobo is just broken by his past relationships, with his folks primarily. It is something he could potentially work through and hopefully he does but Johnston was sadly a lost cause

The end lyrics really hit me when he said ‘’dad screams so loud he knocks the lamps to the ground.’’ And the other last lyric when he said that’s when people fall out of love’’ In those lyrics I could feel his pain the way he moves his emotion into his lyrics is amazing and he is so talented most people don’t like him because of his voice but it’s not about that with his kind of music it’s about the lyrics and what they mean and the beat to it. He is a poetic singer you can’t find that in most people that sing it’s all rap or pop or just slow music but not him there’s a really special talent in him and all his music comes from the pain he’s had and this he puts his feelings into the music so good that I can feel his pain listening to those lyrics. I wish the best for him

I’m too emotional Good luck to my future wives And their future lives without me You guys will do great! I’m sure that I’ve prepared you for every guy you’ll date And every guy you’ll marry And every guy you’ll hate Its the lullabies I sang out of tune thats probably what did it Or my twin size mattress that I had since I was 7 That we have to sleep on whenever she spends the night And if she falls off again she’ll find another guy to like We’re just Romeo & Juliet But getting drunk and eating percocets But just to ease the stress But soft what light, thru yonder window breaks It is the east, but Juliet just puked off the balcony How romantic Nothing like getting drunk and getting manic On a mother fucking monday I I brush the bangs behind her lovely little ear As she describes in detail how the end is truly near Wow, and I'm sure that we can do this for forever Or until we drink the poison, cause she sees some cloudy weather As Rosaline, lies in bed, seething, wide awake Because a burning love for Juliet only took a day And if Romeo & Juliet continued to be married Thens there’s half of a chance that their kids would get embarrassed, when all the kids at school all talk about their parents And Romeo Jr. has to say their not together And Junior will dream of the day when hes a man And what he’ll do to avoid that 50% chance Of his kids feeling the way he feels He’ll probably just stick with Netflixs and Chill Dear Shakespeare Could you write happy ending please Could you write a happy ending please, we just deserve a happy ending please, please And every sting from every tear drop From every ring at every pawn shop I’m not missing both my Christmas’ Though family would be nice In my dreams my kids are happy And I know that they won’t mind One Christmas Just one Christmas Just one Christmas Just one Christmas But dear mom Conversations from a couch haven’t ever felt the same, since you looked Dad in the eye, and you told him that things are about to change. my mom was made from Adams rib, and the marriage went south, when the snake came back, and asked my mother out to dinner, and my dad found out, and asked my mom what that's about, and she said "oh it's nothing", but dad loves to shout, really loud. loud enough to knock the lamps and dressers to the ground, in my memory, I can hear, chopin's nocturnes playing in the backround, a slow train wreck, you’ll close your eyes but forever hear the sound, and boy it's tough, cause thats the sound of people falling out of Love

This song literally told my entire life! I grew up in an abusive home and it has affected me my entire life and ive tried to cling on to relationships out of fear of being alone and always get hurt in the process so i had closed myself of from emotional attachment. But there is always a silver lining just not everyone can see it! People whove ever felt any of this or have mental disorders need to listen to this man! He definitely understands the struggle!

This part actually makes me cry because of how it's related to me. My dad(I call him sperm donor) was very manipulative to my mom and abused her and made her feel like she was nothing and he wouldn't let her do anything. Then she met my stepdad (that I call my dad) and he was the 'snake' in my sperm donors eyes because my mom found someone that wanted to give her the world.

The first time I heard Hobo Johnson, a radio station was playing it, asking if it was music or just insanity. I sided with insanity. A few years later I somehow stumbled onto him again and gave it another chance. It's crazy how much I relate to just about every one of his songs. It kind of scares me to be honest lol. I want to thank you for making this music Hobo. I have severe anxiety and probably some depression to go with it and I can't afford treatment and I do not have talent like yours to have an output for it. You take my incoherent thoughts and put them into the words that I cannot seem to find. Just listening to your lyrics and being able to relate to them helps me a lot as I know I'm not alone in the way I feel sometimes.

I was getting depressed the other night, when I fell down a KZbin dwell. I watched literally like 35 videos then I clicked on this little peice of mastery called Hobo Johnson. I listened to every thing I could every video. spotify. every thing. not to get too much in my feels but your work is truly inspiring and I'm glad I found you that night cause I wasn't thinking of sticking around another night Feeling SO ALONE! I found myself under a street light in Austin Tx, writing verses and my mom is probably glade I found you. Thanks man.

L Y R I C S: I’m too emotional Good luck to my future wives And their future lives without me You guys will do great!

Yo idk if I posted this, but I'm sure there's a lot of other people who felt that line, there's a half a chance their kids will get embarrassed when they have to say their parents aren't together. First time I heard this my cousin told me about Hobo Johnson when I mentioned my situation and he said, oh like this song? And God damn... Hobo may not be the next great singer of our time, but he certainly has more meaning in a verse than the top 25 songs of the year. Not to mention the music is unique and still bops
