Freut mich, dass dir das Video gefallen hat! Ich bin immer ganz froh, wenn jemand ein ausfuehrliches Video dreht, gerade bei Sachen, die etwas teuerer sind.

Thank you for such a detailed review! I lost my marbles and did a second, larger Hobonichi order yesterday, including the A6 Cafe au Lait, and I’m hoping a lot of what you covered also applies to the A6. It’s so classy!

It is very classy, I agree! I hope you'll enjoy your A6 Cafe au Lait! I'd be curious if your experience with the A6 compares to the A5.

@@MaikeOatley I’m loving it so far. It’s so much more compact than other zipper covers, but one can still fit quite a bit. I have the A6 planner with the weekly supplement and stickers and stencils, and it still zips easily.

I have the same cover and using it already with an avec. It's one of my favorite cover by far!!!

Thank you for this detailed review. I ordered it in a6 and can't wait to get it. I didn't plan on getting it because I already got a different cheaper cover, but I saw that it could fit the hon, it looks professional and chic, and I'm in a professional environment, so I think I'll get a lot of use out of it, more than my other covers. I also don't use many stickers and pictures so I don't mind that it's small.

Yes it looks so chic and professional while still being so warm. If I was in an office setting, I think this cover would bring me a bit of comfort. I hope you're enjoying yours!

Thanks for sharing! I’m definitely lusting over this cover because of the fabric feel ❤ I realize no one can predict this, but I always wonder how long the product will last be available. Sometimes it seems a cover is available for years and other times it’s just gone 😭
@MaikeOatley3 ай бұрын
Yes, that is so fascinating and puzzling, isn't it. Also because it's so hard to predict what is going to be popular and what is not, and how likely are people to resell certain covers on the second hand market. I am still considering getting the A6 Herringbone cover, because again I love that fabric a lot. But I don't need an A6 cover right now and I kinda don't want to buy it now, only out of fear that it'll be hard to get my hands on later.

@@MaikeOatley Exactly why I keep eyeing the covers and wondering if they will sell out... trying to think how much I would regret if it wasn't available in the spring... hmmm!

I think I have watched your informative video twice now. It is great to have your opinion having used it for a month. I use minimal extras/ maybe a few watercolors in my black gingham Hon. when I compare my current Hon with the new one it does fluff up a bit. Would feel better if I were using an avec. I’m trying to talk myself out of it. 😊 I’m also in love with the matching bag and how elegant it looks. I am having a hard time finding any videos of someone describing it. Someone on my FB group gave a great recommendation. All of these things are kind of out of my price range too. Trying to busy myself with a few projects so I won’t keep thinking about it.

Thank you for the helpful review! I had noticed in unboxings that this cover looked particularly narrow and didn’t catch on to the “tight” cover reference. As a person who packs 3 suitcases for a 3 day weekend, and carries a Mary Poppins bag purse (hey, it’s got everything!) this would not be a good purchase for me. I appreciate it as this is absolutely lovely and perfect for the use it’s meant for. I could see it being a little more functional if it had about 3mm more in width, length, and depth…and that doesn’t seem like much and something that would not make it a battle with covers or pens, etc. It is absolutely lovely and I know what you mean about the lovely smell of leather. Very relaxing.

I love a good Mary Poppins bag, lol ;) I totally understand, though. It's so important to consider how you actually use your notebooks and covers and kind of your lifestyle too. And unfortunately sometimes that means loving the look and design of an object from afar. Thank you for watching!

@@MaikeOatley That’s a perfect way to put it!! It goes along with some of the covers in those beautiful fabrics…I know me, I spill stuff, no cover on cover would save that beautiful fabric. However, for another use, I would adore some of those gorgeous fabrics and be able to use them without “ruining” them. (Basically, I’d be so worried I’d get it dirty, that I wouldn’t use it…just stare at it, lol.) If the fabric (I’m thinking of the light blue and white contrasted with the floral cover, and last years ‘woven’ green with a little sparkle) were a jacket or a dress or similar, I’d snag it in a heartbeat!

You're not supposed to use a plastic cover inside the covers. With leather covers, specifically, it's not at all advisable because the plastic can damage the leather. This cover review was very good, it's the sort of reviews we don't get often because everyone is always praising Hobonichi. Good job!
@MaikeOatley2 ай бұрын
Oh wow, thanks so much for letting me know about the plastic cover. I had heard that people were cautioning against putting plastic covers on the leather Hobonichi Weeks, but it makes perfect sense that you also wouldnt want the plastic interacting with the leather interior!

Hey Maike, thank you for sharing how your Cafe taut A5 cover is fairing. I have seen so many A6 but I was curious about the A5. I am still debating getting this cover as I use the Avec but it does get chunky with ephemera. Also I wonder if they will change the design of this cover slightly next year - moving the pen loop - like they did with the Tragan cover from Spring to September release. Also side note I bought the Laurent Garigue Twickle Tweed cover last year which is too chunky for a Hobonichi CoC, I sprayed it with leather and fabric protection spray so if it did get dirty I could clean it off and re-spray the Protector. You should be able to find the suede & fabric cleaner and protector sprays in any good shoe shop, if you wanted to protect this cover - for me it is good to know I did learn something from my first teen job 😜
@MaikeOatley2 ай бұрын
Oh that is such a good idea to spray it with a protection spray! Thank you for sharing this, I'll definitely do that! I can be quite clumsy and with art supplies and pencil shavings on the desk... It would obviously be very frustrating to get this cover only to find out it cant fit a chunked up Avec book. The fabric is quite flexible, so I would imagine that the fabric can probably mold to quite a bit of bulk, not sure about the zipper though.
