Agreed, sir. IMNSHO, Don Cherry and "Coach's Corner" was the ONLY reason to watch HNIC. You never knew what he would say and, agree with his opinion or not, he was provocative at times but ALWAYS entertaining. The new crew's banal commentary is an excellent remedy for insomnia and that's the only positive thing I can say about it. I only wish the NHL Network would find some way to bring Don back for his incisive commentary. Just my $0.02.

And Cherry himself said he wishes he worded himself a bit better instead of making it sound like he singled out visibly ethnic newcomers... In any case, I too lost some interest after he left. I loved Coach's Corner, his analysis, his clothes, the way he honored Canadian soldiers, etc. I also liked Ron MacLean, they had a great chemistry, with Ron full of fancy sayings and interesting facts. It changed alot and now it seems like they are more into representation, equity and growing the game. I'm okay with that, but you sacrifice expertise, charisma and entertainment. HNIC really has SUCKED since Don Cherry was fired. Hardly watch hockey since, and the DEI hire at CBC, TSN and Sportsnet, and all other outlets is a huge turn off..

I mute most pre-game and intermission panels. Each of them gets a script to bullshit about a team or player, it feels forced. Bieksa either goes off script or puts it in his own words to make it entertaining. The TNT panel is amazing.

The guy with the hat is completely out of his mind . His associate on the other side of the table is absolutely right on the mark . Other than Kevin B. on HNIC ; the rest of them should be canned for sure . It's the same old BULL SHIT every week listening to these idiots on Saturday evenings . The guys on TNT are 💯 % better being former pro players

HNIC is tough to watch ever since Grapes was fired!! He made the intermissions a highlight!

No the regular audience doesn't want this. That’s why the general audience has left HNIC.

Totally agree the HNIC intermission panel is garbage, been garbage since Ron stabbed Don in the back

Obviously adding Weekes,Carter,HanaryanSingh, female players, even at times Biz is to target younger audience/DEI black/non hockey markets USA/and Singh or others to bring other races into game. Could you easily put Hall of Famers or people working way into hockey jobs yes but doesn't fit agenda. Bettman wants Atlanta,Houston,Kansas, and I believe if they could make it work one day they still believe in a Arizona/Phoenix team. Over say a Quebec I think they would even consider a GTA team like NYI/NYR over Quebec.

Rogers destroys everything they touch! The Blue Jays, HNIC, City TV, Much Music, on and on!

When HNIC lost the rights to the iconic theme was when it ended. Don Cherry got himself shitcanned.

You just need panellists who are not afraid to pull punches and say what they really think. Always thought Sean Avery and Georges Laraque would be a great duo on "Hockey Night in Canada." If you watch those guys on podcasts they don't mince words about what they truly feel. That's what Don Cherry did and why he was so watchable.

still can't swear .Like Avery would do.

This guy thinks the NHL is tanking their ratings for the ladies, when all they have to do is boost their content for actual fans. Scrap pride and dei, honour the veterans

We need to boycott the NHL broadcast until they get rid of Jennifer botterill Thanks guys for bringing this up. I've been saying this for a long time now.

Hockey Night in Canada needs to get rid of Ron MacLean and have Jeremy Roenick and Aaron Ward and Jeff O'Neil on the panel.

I grew up watching HNIC. I also grew up playing soccer decades ago. I remember ABC NASL broadcast were they would explain every rule as it was applied during a match. It was excruciating to watch. However, my father and two uncles came from Europe. They watch HNIC. No one coddled to them. They just grew into it and they did it pretty quickly. Viewers don't need to be talked down to.

To whoever that guy is with the hat on... my wife can’t stand HNIC anymore because of the DEI. If you have to beta beg your wife to watch HNIC, everything is already wrong anyway. The garbage panels and scripted fakery of HNIC ain’t gonna help you.
