The capitals storming back to pull into the lead for the eastern conference was something I wasn't expecting. I didn't give their roster depth enough credit, but it's a wonderful thing to be wrong about as a fan. They just keep finding ways to win games. Another thing I wasn't expecting is for the Metro to have such a tight battle over the lead spot. Seems like every week it's a toss up between the Devils, Canes, and Caps.

As a Caps fan, I haven't really been excited to watch since they won the cup after many years of let downs. I tuned in this season to watch Ovechkin break the record, only to see him break his leg. However this team is easily the most exciting capitals team since the 09 season in my opinion.

St. Louis had such creative offense that even the refs got involved by just not calling penalties on them and calling everything on us even when it wasn't a penalty, mafia must've been breathing down their necks that night

It's been really frustrating how much the reffing has screwed us with some games. I was at the caps game and while the mercer and luke penalties were extremely boneheaded and blatant, there was were at least 4 penalties committed against Meier alone that were not called at all in the 3rd period, in addition to Bratt getting boarded. I don't get how officiating gets worse every year. Not afraid to give one team 8 minutes of power plays but no problem swallowing the whistle for the other.

@@andrewi559 Honestly missed calls should be inexcusable at this point, multiple refs on the ice and a metric fuck ton of camera angles, nothing should be missed and coaches should be allowed to challenge dogshit calls without the fear of giving up powerplays. Also I hate the mentality of refs who go "Oh we missed this call, so we'll give you guys some" cuz it doesn't balance out the mistake, it just blatantly gives one team the advantage for a bit, but also, JUST FOLLOW THE FUCKING RULES
