This is pretty basic skating stuff. If you're basically coordinated, it will take you 20 min to learn this. 😊

Yeah basic if you're basically already a pro skater 🙄

I can get to 75 so from there to 100 will be a fun challenge. Great timing on this video. This past summer I made a commitment to spend this winter getting back into hockey after an 8yr hiatus. Definitely will be watching this video more.

Well after watching all the levels I’d rank myself at 75. I thought I was advanced but see there’s always room to improve and build my edges. Once I can get back on the ice I’m going to study these drills! 🙏

His skating is amazing. I came here to learn how to get better on my edges so I can be a better skater when I become a USA Hockey ref in the fall. Based on this video I'd be a level 10 skater, I am going to aim to be at least level 30 by the fall
@TimaiosGottfried Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for this video! I've been getting into ice hockey and want to play it now, too, but I'm a total beginner. These will help me possibly enter one of the teams here where I'm from and then maybe work my way up! Thank you, truly.

Same here I’m 26 and feel I’ve started way too late :(. But I’m pretty athletic and skating is coming to me quickly and I’m having an absolute blast with it
@thebeckofkevin Жыл бұрын
@@PoisondBacon I'm 33, started skating last winter. Fell 1000 times at least. Broke my finger. I live near water that freezes so I was trying to put in a couple hours a day just practicing the basics. This year I felt like I had a good enough hockey stop and such that I wouldnt be embarrassing and joined a pick up league. Like yourself I'm relatively athletic, but most importantly I was stubborn as hell about pursuing this lifelong goal. I'm way behind. Waaaaaay behind but who cares, its all fun. Also anyone who is thinking of learning how to skate, do it asap. Wish I would have learned 10 (or 30) years ago. :)

I could do level 100. I'm a good skater but I lack in good hockey sense and I ain’t hitting people enough for elite levels in my province. Here is something that might be harder to do than level 100: come in outside edge following the edge of a circle and pivot towards the outside of the cercle while staying on the same foot and keeping the turning as constant as possible and do it another time but turning towards the center. You’ve done a 360 on 1 foot while turning. The faster you turn, the harder it is to keep balance.

Hi I’m new into hockey… did he has any protection under his pants ? Is there any training gear you can use or is it a standard protection ? I know I will fall a lot, so I would be prepared :) thx 4 the help
@simbot15 Жыл бұрын
This guy might have shin guards on to do the knee touches? But he probably doesn't have any gear besides the gloves and stick since he's an expert skater. However, most players just train in full gear since that's what you gotta get used to for a game. Just suit all the way up to practice skating, it'll make falling a lot less painful!
@hockeytraining Жыл бұрын
He uses shin pads. If you are training for hockey I'd recommend full gear.

It’s the damn Mohawk I can’t figure out. Pivoting between forward and backward vice versa I could see achieving a Mohawk in a nano second but just couldn’t get through my fear and hold a neutral stance, and then start to choose a side and push off. I hope I’ll overcome that psyche someday.

Is there an actual edge work video like this that has 1-100 edge work techniques from your site? Or was this just a video showing some of his edge work techniques? Either way these are pretty awesome. Thought it would be cool to have a comprehensive video like this to run through with the kids.

We don't have a video with 100 drills in it, but if you look at our Edge Work playlist we have multiple videos and most likely close to 100 drills throughout them 👍🏼
