4 keys to have a more powerful snap shot that you can implement today!
I breakdown how to take a snap shot and then show you 4 mistakes I see players make with their snap shots so you can avoid them. At the end, I also provide a few drills and exercises you can use to develop a harder snap shot.
I've never had the best snap shot, but more recently I've used the tips discussed in this video to really improve my shot and I'm hoping I can help you add at least a few M.P.H. to your shot too!

Okay dudes. I have watched approximately 15 videos trying to properly understand the mechanics of the snapshot. In the first minute, you guys answered all of my questions and more. I don’t know why I ever watch anyone else’s channel. You guys rock!

Pulling the top hand in and down 😮 I wish someone had told me that sooner. That downward pull adds sooo much snap. Thank you! Feels like a lightbulb moment.

This is an excellent video! I'm definitely guilty of focusing mostly on my bottom hand and making sure I'm getting maximum flex on the stick rather than what my top hand is doing. Also you're right at the end of the video, your programs are great! The Mens League Domination program is excellent, I put on quite a few pounds of muscle by sticking to it over covid, honestly it made a big difference. Cheers!

this is one of the best technique tips i've ever seen. been playing for 30 years and have a good shot, but the top hand tip is next level. you can actually ease up a bit on bottom hand power and think about accuracy and still get major heat but with greater accuracy. brilliant.

First of all; I have no idea how I missed this video - my alert notification was on but I had to reset it to "all" notifications. Anyways, on point as usual. You don't click-bait and so educational as well. Thanks for your effort and content man - underrated hockey channel for those wanting to learn! Maybe a recommendation for your next video (more for the kids) is how to get their slapshot harder, and how to raise that puck when taking that slapshot...very low chance to actually work in a game format but, who doesn't dream about a clapper top shelf goal?!!

As others noted, this is the best snap shot training video I’ve seen. Great breakdowns, tips and exercises. Which part of the blade do you strike puck with? In your video, looks like middle. Some coaches/players fire it off the toe. Thanks!
@hockeytraining
@hockeytraining Жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad it helped! And I used to go more towards the middle, but I've been trying to shoot a bit more off my toe lately as I find I get off a better shot when it's a bit closer to the toe. I'd have to analyze more video to really see where it's coming off.

It's all about that top hand! There's no swing or body rotation like a slapper so almost all the energy comes from whipping the top hand. My shot stunk because I followed way too much advice focused on loading the stick with the bottom hand 😞

This is an outstanding breakdown and execution of a the Snap Shot! One minor recommendation, briefly address the positioning and placement of your lower hand on the stick shaft. Again, this is a GREAT Instructional Video, so, please don't look at my recommendation as any form of criticism.

I’ve been working on the snapshot a lot recently and trying to shoot it like Phil Kessel. After some months working on it, I have noticed that it has improved but i can't get a thing right like Kessel does. After he releases a shot from his inside leg, he gets his top hand so it ends up on the bottom of the logo on the jersey, and i really want to get that thing right. Anyone got tips?

Hey coach do you know why sometimes to puck flips when I shoot because I feel like when that happens it loses power
@hockeytraining

It could be where the puck leaves your blade depending on your curve or when you pull the puck in to shoot it could be coming in not flat and causing it to flip when you make contact. I'd have to see a video!

I really don't get the whole "pushing the puck forward" before you shoot deal. Why exactly is that necessary? When I shoot the puck never leaves my blade and I have no issues putting the hands in front of my body. Just trying to understand because I don't really understand what exactly that is supposed to do mechanically.
