The pain on both of your faces admitting that a Bauer stick is really good is comical 😂 Love my Proto R, tried the Ghost but it’s not in the same class IMO.

Let's start with, I love your videos and please keep up the great work! Now, let's be real for a minute. The Bauer Agent is a high performing stick that breaks every two weeks. What a disaster of a stick. There is something seriously wrong with the design of the stick and Bauer won't do anything about it. Now Bauer wants me to try the Proto, another Boron infused stick? I would have to have my head examined. It's the FT Ghost for now. Performance has been great and durability is good so far.

I had both and the Proto R is one of the best sticks I’ve ever used. Have no regrets so far.

I officially own both and have used the Ghost in at least 25-35 games and I’ve used the Proto R in close to 10 games and the FT Ghost is way better. I’ve even used them back to back and the feel, shot release and power on the Ghost is just way better. A guy I play with just broke his Proto R during warmups Saturday night taking a slapshot. He’s had it for two weeks. I’ve had mine a week and play at least 1 game everyday. The Ghost is fine besides the regular scratches etc after 25-35 games. The Proto R already has small damage on the blade outside layering right around 7-10 games. If your going to spend $350-400 get the FT Ghost all day. If I had the money I’d buy 100 Ghost right now to use for the next several years.

This right here is a perfect example on why xstiff foams in the blade unlike the x-soft in the FTGhost is just superior. It just flies off the blade. Tommy said it perfectly, it just feels like you have to put more effort into the FTGhost but still a great stick!

I own both and play on 9 teams including a minor pro team. I’ve used both and the Ghost is way better and more durable. My buddy just broke his Proto R after 2 weeks, and mine is already showing damage on the blade and I’ve used it 7 times. I’ve played around 25-35 games with Ghost including 2 minor pro games with it and it has zero damage besides scuff marks.

I have a 6 figure job and spend stupid amounts of my money on new sticks every few months and I just can’t bear the thought of spending $500 on either of these now. The prices are out of control. My trigger 8 snapped with 3 days left of warranty so I traded it in for another FT6 Pro. I have CCM customs I’ll probably just stay using until my last one in the batch is broken from now on 🤷🏻‍♂️

I promise between these two sticks the ghost is better. I only bought the Proto R because they were $410 for two of them through my connection and couldn’t pass up that deal but within seven days of using the Proto R the blade is already showing some damage on the fibers on the outer layer but the FT ghost after 25 to 30+ games is showing zero damage besides your regular scuff marks. So if you’re going to pay full price on the sticks, you want to get the FT ghost. One of the guys I play with just broke his Proto R during warm-ups Saturday night taking a slapshop. He’s only had it for two weeks.

I play aaa u16 and have broken 3 bauer syncs this year on draws and finnaly decided to switch it up and went with the proto r and its been almost 2 months hasent broken and im so happy with it.

I fell for the hype of the ghost in the last video, I went back for a trigger pro already. I've tried using an ft stick in the past and didn't care for it much, having heard the ghost having a faster release I tried it. Feels too soft and dead, like the blade is too soft for me, all in all just felt like any other ft stick. If you use a lowkick stick and like the feel do not, I repeat do not try and switch. And no knock intended but I don't know how anyone can switch between different sticks like this all the time and give accurate feedback. I remember when I tried a 1s out and couldn't do anything with it, just felt awful. Like I can rip wristers from the blueline better with a lowkick stick than a mid or hybrid.

I'm mainly a Bauer guy, but I'm impressed by both the Ghost and the Proto R. Tried them both at the store for a bit. Love the feel. LMAO I might consider buying both if I had the cash. I wonder if people will look at me funny if I bring both CCM and Bauer sticks.

What positions do you both play? Also surprised the Proto R has been holding up well for you. I've heard stories about people snapping the thing in half like a week after using it. At least you guys are going to be reviewing the durability, because I really don't want to get one and have it snap instantly

Bauer proto-r is no upgrade if not a downgrade from the Agent. Totally going CCM FT Ghost on this one.

The proto-r isn’t an upgrade of the agent the agent is low kick and the proto-r is a mid kick, they are both just speciality limited time sticks

It's basically the sync without the 5 sided geometry, which is an upgrade.

I hate that CCM’s Ghost stick @ 65 flex is intermediate width but senior height. Sucks for short kings like me 😢

Had both of them, proto had a harder shot but worse feel, but the terrible grip made me gravitate toward the ft ghost more, well that and the thing blew up after a month 😑

Hey Tommy, To get both sticks to the height you like how much did you cut off the FT Ghost and how much off the Proto R? I have Bauer sticks and I don't cut anything but i got the Ghosts and needed to cut 1 1/2" (3.8-4 cm) off it. So my 75 Flex is more like an 80-82 Flex now. Your CCM 75 flex is more like what? After cutting. The Proto R i assume was a 77 Flex to start and is more like what after cutting it down?

By looking at your stick and guessing by you tape job. I'd say you cut 5" to 6" (12-15 cm) making your Flex roughly a 90 to 105. Damn that's stiff!

I have both and in my opinion the fr ghost is much better the puck feels sm better on the blade and the shot feels insane in my opinion proto still has a very good shot but I thought the release was a bit slow compared to the ghost plus I broke my proto first pre season game

Agreed. I open both of these and would stock up on the Ghost before ever buying another Proto R. I kinda want to sell my two to get 3-4 more Ghost sticks because they’re truly amazing. The Proto R had a great shot but lacks the puck feel and power compared to the ghost. I play on 9 teams including a minor pro team and play at least 9-10 games a week and have used them both.

Hate to say this… the proto r is better than the ghost (in my opinion!) i had the ghost and the release felt awfully slow and felt like a regular jetspeed, it just was okay… now im currently using the proto r and completely blown ghost out the water on release, weight (you decide if less is better for you) shot speed, and personally the feel of the shaft.

Our videos aren’t filmed in one day. It’s over a few days or weeks. So sometimes he might be wearing something different for another video or even for a new follow up review of skates (explained durability etc)

It was such a surprize for me that the Bauer was better in your opinion...oh wait, it wasnt, since in all your reviews no matter the brands, everything beats the CCM sticks...
