Thanks for sharing! I keep a dehumidifier in my basement to control the dampness and found it accelerates drying my gear. The ceiling in my laundry room is unfinished so I use a few nails in the rafters to hang my pants and helmet while using exposed pipes to hang my shin guards and clothes hangers for my jersey, shoulder pads, and hang my elbow pads on a bungee that wraps through them. I also have a single level drying rack to serve my thermal gear, gloves, and socks. I’m happy with my drying setup as it takes little floor space but due to the inevitability of delay to dry gear immediately after use, I found my gloves smelling so that’s what pulled me to your video. A preventative bioreactive spray is the next addition to my system.

I think you’ve mentioned this on one of your other videos, but adding vinegar to the wash also helps kill the bacteria. I use it in lieu of fabric softener.

Don't forget to clean your equipment bag from time to time as well. Packing sweaty, smelly gear into your bag after practice or a game can lead to bacterial buildup inside that can stick around even after you've cleaned your equipment.

After every game, I spray some Febreeze 0% perfume in my gloves to eliminate any bad odours and every month or so, I rubbed in some shaving cream on the palms (inside and outside) to make them super soft (with a great smell). I have used this combination for about two years now and it worked very well on all my gloves.

Does the type of detergent madder as far as quality goes. Is the cheap detergent just as good as the more name brand? Would a “sports specific” detergent be the best way to clean hockey gear?

I put each of my gloves in a pillow case and then put them on a quick wash at 30, then air dry them. Also I have baby wipes in my kit bag to wipe down my stick, gloves and helmet.

I use the Rocket Dryer for all my gear after every game. I pull out that flap that goes against the back of your hand and stick some dryer sheets in the gloves while they're in the Rocket Dryer. That flap soaks up a lot of moisture so make sure it's free to breathe too.
@HockeyTutorialOfficial7 жыл бұрын
Rocket Dryers are good but your gear being hit repeatedly with heat isn't always great for expensive skate liners and gloves. Still a big fan of them though.

Anyone know any videos of NHL players putting on their gear? Preferably someone who likes their skate tongue under the shins.
@connor-vh2ex7 жыл бұрын
DisturbedRocks31 put on your skates, socks and hockey pants before your shin guards. When ready to put the shins on, pull down the socks to the angle level, put on the shin pads, and then pull up the socks and do whatever you do to make them stay up.
