I watch the Hogfather every holiday season that I remember to, and Death is such a large part of that! His ideology in this moment and how he frames it, enhancing the idea of the falling angel meeting the rising ape, is perfection, in book and in movie form. “You need to believe in things that aren’t true. How else can they ever become?” That line has stuck with me for years

Ever since I heard it, I always repeat that back to people who say what’s the point

Thank you DQ! I truly adore Discworld's Death - the reaper who loves and cherishes the harvest, even though his work would make you think he is callous. He adores humanity and life, all of their petty foibles and abstractions, because of the ability to dream and change the world - even if as he says, only in dreams and thoughts. If there is truly a spectre at the end of the road we all walk, I hope he's like what Sir Pratchett imagined. The harvest should at least hope for the love of the reaper.

God, I love watching and reading Terry Prachett stuff during the holidays. And not just Hogfather. It’s all just so fitting for the season, some how.

That's what I liked about Discworld. You're going along, laughing and smiling at the silliness, then Pratchett hits you with something beautiful and profound. He really was underappreciated.

I read the entire "City Watch" series and never before have I laughed so hard at a book, Discworld is that special setting that regardless of who the main character POV story is about it is consistently entertaining and thought provoking. Excellent narration as always!

Me and my family watch the Hogfather every winter solstice. I've always loved this scene, both in the book and in the movie.

Ooooh, Discworld! Wasn't expecting this at all this evening. I ran across this scene browsing KZbin a while ago, and it captivated me and had me looking into Discworld and specifically Death. Quite an endearing character. Excellent voice over!

Could you do the Tower of Joy passage from ASOIAF? I feel like it would fit perfectly to your voice and style

I would like to request more Discworld qoutes. Perhaps a qoute from Thud! where Sam Vimes has a near death experience or while he plows through Dwarf qoutes from Where´s my Cow? fun little side fact he did try and modify the story (that he reads for his young son Sam) from Where´s my Cow to Where´s my Dad? The only line we got from that was Where´s my Dad? is that my dad he goes Bugger it, that´s not my dad that´s Sargent Nobby Nobbs. He stopped doing that after young Sam mimiced the word Bugger it, and his wife Sybil gave him a stink eye after that Sam Vimes went back to Where´s my Cow.
