To me, it feels like everything the Emperor was saying in the beginning was more or less word associations from his old life. Yes. He saw the Primarchs as his sons but also as a number of tools. When he was calling Guilliman a liar, thief, betrayer, and all that other negative stuff. To me, it felt more like he was saying that about his sons/the primarchs in general, and who was it that betrayed him? Who was it that stole from him? Horus. Another number. Another Primarch. Another son. The end part is him trying to say that he doesn't even have the right to be considered his father, because the galaxy and everyone in it, even his fallen brothers, even he the Emperor himself, relied on him going forward. He could do all he could to save everything and everyone. He could save some of it. He could save none of it. It was up to him to choose.

Great reading DQVO! It's a cool, interesting topic, and it's something that would realistically happen if we met an asexual species w/o gender difference. I've never been so disappointed in 40k viewers. Nobody is forcing anything on anyone, nobody is asking you to change you to be gay or change your gender. This is an intellectual conversation between 2 beings about their societal differences. Not even regarding the reading, the only thing LGBTQ people want is to be accepted for something they can't change, not force you or your kids to be gay.

You should read a fragment of Xenogenesis, that trilogy is so impactfull. The first book leave me with a feeling of dread and disgust.

This is certainly a departure from your usual stuff, but I don't get why this reading is so polarizing. It's just a conversation on gender between members of different species that's handled with actual _intelligence_ and _maturity_ behind it. This like-dislike ratio is genuinely sad to see. I'm a cisgender, heterosexual white man who doesn't even agree with "queer theory" which modern sexual identities are based on as I understand. (Of course, Ursula Le Guin's story is a bit older than that, but I am guessing people are mainly put off by how this video relates to "pride.") But that doesn't make works like these any less thought-provoking or enjoyable. Nor does it change the fact that you have, as always, done a great job with it. It is an interesting story, about explaining to an asexual species what it means to be a species that shares two specific sexes. Also, how to explain what it means to have specific feelings, and how gender assignment across a species history affects all aspects of society. Ignore the haters, and listen to it for the detail. I'm hetero and happy to be so, but as a scientist it is still interesting to hear how people would approach such material
