@@francissantos7448 us trappers are already competing with hunting organizations charging to shoot hogs. They feed hogs year round just to charge people to come in and shoot them successfully. Hogs aren't going anywhere. We're just trying to get the population under control as much as possible.

@@carolinahogstopper2709 glad to hear that valuable resources are being managed properly to make wild pigs a viable industry. Both the hunting and population control.
@carolinahogstopper27092 жыл бұрын
@@francissantos7448 not exactly true. Hunters kill one or two hogs making the rest of them harder to kill and much harder to trap. Hunting hogs makes them more alert when they have been shot at. Smart trapping is the most efficient way to control the hog population. Hunting actually contributes to the problem in my opinion. The science is you need to kill 75% of the hog population from one year to the next just to keep the numbers the same. Hunting doesn't come close to doing that.

With soft netting,the piggies won't injure themselves running into it. Good thing they aren't the brightest animals around. All they have to do to escape is lift the netting off the ground with their snouts,and slip underneath it.
@carolinahogstopper2709 Жыл бұрын
Hogs are actually very smart. And yes, they could root back under the net if it was not laying flat. But there are stakes on the inside at the bottom end of the net that help keep the net pulled straight and flat on the ground. So even though it's possible..... it's not likely they escape that way.
@mikedunn7795 Жыл бұрын
@@carolinahogstopper2709 Okay,but how do they get into it? Must be loose enough to shimmy under it. I have seen other videos of them doing it. I thought the main reason they can't get out was the fact they are standing on the netting when trying to get out.

All traps have pros and cons.... I've used another trap before this one. To be honest I thought this trap was a gimmick when I first saw it.... but the more I looked at it all the fundamentals are there and the negatives I was having with my other trap were positives on this one. The only thing so far I'm waiting to see is durability for the price, but so far I don't have a single tear (knock on wood) in this trap. I'm also able to catch many big hogs instead of a couple big or a lot of small hogs like in my other trap. I do believe the trap cap is a must though to keep from having them go over the top in the right situation.

Because the net is curved inward not outwards. I also have stakes inside the trap insuring the trap net doesn't get pushed out. Let me know if you have any more questions. Hope you can understand what I'm saying.
