Just to be clear, these comments aren’t unique to Sebastian! NPCs (including professors) also have comments like these about your relationship with your other companions. I felt like I needed to say this because I've seen some people sharing these lines and saying that they're evidence of a cut romance feature, when it's more evidence of a cut companion feature. If you ask me, these lines sound more like they're describing a platonic relationship than a romantic one. I need to add that if you DO take Sebastian with you (with a mod,as a companion),he does have LOOOOOOOTS of lines for the quest you are currently doing.Both MC and Sebastian tend to chitchat between them as they are progressing around. Which just confirms that they indeed did cut a companion feature out. That's kind of sad,but thanks to the mods,we get to hear them.

@@Enric. I definitely recommend it for more immersion. It feels less lonely on your travels,it feels like you do have your partner in crime,someone to have your back in the bad situations. I got many laughs out of it,when Sebastian trips over Merlin's stone balls or gets pushed by a cow cart you transformed etc. He also saved me many times too,it's really fun. As for the crashes,I did crash but not from this mod,its from "Companions uses Unforgivables." That one is still unsteady! Hope this helped. 😊

I mean, to be fair, Ominis wasn't being very supportive of Sebastian's desperate search for a cure. You know, besides stalking Sebastian and threatening other people to stay away from his oldest friend. Not exactly the most healthy friend there xP (And yes, I know Ominis is doing it because he cares about Sebastian and is scared of dark arts, doesn't change the facts tho, as much as I like the kid, he could have visited Anne with Seb or helped with research or something besides asking MC to take his best friend duties)

@@SwordmaidenGwen it is a good point. But, although it's not clearly stated in the game itself, I think Ominis tried to help Sebastian before. It was some time since Anne was cursed and to the point where we meet them all, so anything could have happened there. I imagine Ominis was initialy supportive of Sebastian's search for a cure, maybe even tried to help him with it, but eventually grew to realise that there might just not be a cure at all. Maybe he tried to get Sebastian to accept reality, to persuade him to get to terms with what had happend and to move on, because he thought that would've been better for everyone, but Seb was having none of it, so their friendship started to dampen. And then, of course, Sebastian tried to find his answers in dark magic and Salazar Slytherin's secrets, which was something Ominis just couldn't side with, so that brought them to the state in which we first meet them in the game. Of course, this is just my take, I'm not saying this is 100% what happened, but it seems quite likely to me.

Exactly! Ominis is a great character for showing how looks can be deceiving and people can be very prejudiced against you because you look different or you're from a particular family, but once you get to know someone properly they can be the exact opposite of who you expect.

Understandable but still obviously irrational, I think saving three LIVES is worth some hurt feelings and trauma triggering. I've got PTSD and I can tell you that even if I get triggered, I don't want people dying for it. Also, you're defending poor, poor Ominis despite him being a pretty bad friend to Sebastian, not supporting Sebastian in his attempts to save his sister's LIFE, when Sebastian only asked him for information? It was Ominis who chose to enter the Scriptorium with MC and Sebastian because he himself wanted to find his aunt. He says it himself "it wasn't you who told me what I needed to hear". Ominis WANTED to go into the Scriptorium, he just couldn't bear the guilt and accountability that he'd feel if he gave Sebastian the info and something happened to Sebastian. Ominis is frankly, a coward (understandable for a traumatised kid) who fears regret and shirks responsibility like an FFXIV tank, he was so easy to convince because MC gives him an excuse to do what he wanted to. Geez, I LOVE Ominis for his complex hypocrisy and deep inner conflict, his sly, cunning, and manipulative personality, his ability to lie to pretty much everyone and himself, but no matter how you slice it, he's a terrible friend because he can't make any sort of decision. If you love him, great, I do too, but love him for who he is, not who you think he is. And sure, Sebastian tells us about Ominis' history, but that was in defence of Ominis' character (as in, honor). He told us about Ominis' history so that we understand why he's being unreasonable and refusing to help Sebastian. Sebastian did feel remorse after the Scriptorium, why do you think he left Ominis out? Sebastian tried to comfort Ominis after it by expressing his gratitude, but Ominis was too busy regretting it. Sebastian says it himself, “I never wanted to keep all this from Ominis. He just - doesn't understand. And I didn't want to worry him all over again.” Sebastian wanted to have Ominis by his side, but instead of being angered by Ominis’ rejection and abandonment, Sebastian put Ominis’ feelings before his own feelings of betrayal, trying to protect Ominis from feeling guilty. ‘If you don't know, you won't feel guilty for not helping or stopping me.’ Because Sebastian is saving his sister's LIFE here and any life is worth more than some hurt feelings, let alone your twin's. If my brother was dying and my best friend is not helping and in fact being an obstruction, I would be furious. Sebastian has every right to be far angrier at Ominis than he acts. Sebastian shows great consideration of Ominis' feelings, and when he sees how distressed the Scriptorium made Ominis, he decided to stop involving Ominis for Ominis' own sake. Sebastian is even horrified if you don't learn the Imperious curse from him until you decide to learn it to cast on Ominis, saying “So you wouldn't learn it before, but now you want to use it on my best friend!?” Even though, come on Sebastian, Ominis wanted that Imperio, he even treats MC nicer next quest telling them not to apologise, “stop, you did what you had to do, and I agreed. It may well have saved my friendship with Sebastian for the moment.” Showing that even Ominis is aware that giving us permission to force him is a paper-thin illusion purely for his benefit, because he doesn't want to commit to any decision, he wants to be able to blame someone else when things go south. Sebastian shows far more courage, loyalty and love than Ominis and he's not a morally grey character because of the way he treats Ominis lol, he's morally grey because he killed his uncle. Though I will say that I'm not diminishing Ominis’ loyalty to Sebastian here, it's clear in how Ominis’ first thought when he realised what Anne had gone to do, was to manipulate the headmaster to disregard Solomon's words. The equivalent of telling the police not to believe a woman who says she got raped. I mean, it's pretty dark, but it's still loyalty. I don't know where people get the idea that Ominis is a soft sweetheart, he's a stone cold savage yandere who only cares about Sebastian. Understandable, considering his background, even if you want to be different, the weapons you were raised with come easiest. Then again, that's the point, his sweetness is all part of the act. Truly the most Slytherin character I've ever seen, he even fooled what seems to be a decent amount of the player-base. Not saying he doesn't genuinely want to be good, he's just not very good at it, though I imagine he'll get better with time, he's still a kid after all. @@fart63 Oh, I almost forgot, you do realise that Sebastian cast Crucio in the Scriptorium to save Ominis' life since he was too busy panicking to do it himself, understandably of course, but you have to give Sebastian credit for having the balls to do what needed to be done. And perhaps you didn't know, but if MC casts Crucio on Sebastian, he takes it like a champ and is still equally as excited to "We made it!" It's actually hilarious because he goes from sounding like he's dying in one breath to the "We made it!" Kid's just a practical, get the job done, kinda guy, and you gotta respect that level of maturity and objectivity that even adults would struggle with. Also, Ominis' concerns literally consist of "I don't wand Sebastian to die. There isn't much else to listen to after the first pass. And what's wrong with Sebastian helping the new kid who's being literally hunted down to kill by giving them a place to hide? It's a noble gesture, and he makes it clear to us that he doesn't offer it lightly. Even Ominis himself acknowledges that it was a reasonable thing to do and that he was just frustrated with Sebastian already and flew off the wand handle.

Professor Fig told the MC (more than one occasion) to say nothing about the main quest to anyone including the teachers, it would have been interesting to see his reaction to the MC telling him that you had to trust one friend or two: Sebastian. I mean, he was involved a lot… finding Isidora’s portrait, her memories and her secret lair, also he participated in many duels against goblins. Perhaps Fig wouldn’t have liked it given the important secrecy of the mission and also Sebastian’s bad reputation… and maybe we needed to convince him to trust you to trust Sebastian.

Outside all the drama. he seems like the kind that is always the center of attention at school: the guy that spends a lot of time being punished by teachers for misdeeds but academically strong, have cool hobbies (cross wand champion in his case), is reasonably good looking and is overall a nice lad.

It would be pretty in character actually if you think about his quest, especially considering his temperament and how far he pushes his views(and ya know the whole result of him killing his uncle and all). I kinda hope, if these characters are in the next game, we get more Ominus at least, bc I really wanted a quest specifically with him and the whole time I wanted to have him be the one knowing the whole Ancient Magic stuff. Sebastian was pretty neat at first but tbh I stopped liking him like partway through his quest. Definitely a well done character though
