If anyone has experienced being deaf then maybe you can relate. The simple sound of tuning a string instrument is pure heaven. After 7 months of losing my hearing I can finally hear again with a cochlear implant. It is some of the simple things we take for granted. Please protect your hearing.

Thank you for continuing to make these videos, Dave. I find them comforting, entertaining, and informative. A buddy of mine had one of the brick-shaped Hohner by Steinberger basses back in 80s and it was a good value for the money at the time.

Thanks for your channel, I learned how to set up my bass here. I have an old bass from the 60's, maybe one of those Japaneese built, but a good short scale bass. The intonation was wwaayyyy off and made it sound horrible, I swapped the 5th fret with the last fret because of the buzz from a worn out fret, no more buzz, replaced the pots and input jack. Its now playable. Awsome!!!

My first Bass was Hohner, German brand iirc, The drop thing can actually be pitched to drop B (Hence B Bass).
@mightyV4443 жыл бұрын
Yes, German brand and mainly known for their harmonicas. There are people who collect those 'Professional' guitars and basses nowadays! There even was a wooden copy of the Steinberger bass (the headless, paddle-shaped one). Two of my friends and bandmates' first guitars were a Hohner Explorer and a Strat 🙂

If you'll go back and watch the video where you're telling the story, that little "spider guy" was being your faithful assistant the whole time; jumping here to inspect your torque; there to make sure you were using the right wrench, etc. I couldn't concentrate on the story from being afraid that you were going to accidentally squish her. I think she might be a drain moth, so named because they remove the gunk from your drains, and for free. OK, now I gotta go listen to the story. Bug Power!

I have the five string version and I must say, it plays very nice, especially for the price I paid. I play it in passive mode since I cba to put a new battery after the previous owner gooched the wiring (battery slot is where the rest of the wires go in the 5-string) but it just sounds so good regardless. If I have to complain about something, that would be the tuners going loose and rattling but that doesn't go through the amp...

I have one of these in natural It’s not noisy at all but I find the neck rather too fat for me These were an evolution of the Hohner Jack, when folks were getting tired of the headless thing They added a headstock and tried to make it a budget Warwick thumb Hence the W on the headstock amd the pickup angled at the bridge

It reminds me of my $85 Rogue bass, but it has a much nicer looking bridge. (Not bad bass for $85. The gig bag was less than $20. So you know the particle board body will be protected.)💯 Seriously that's not a bad looking or sounding bass (Hohner).
