They added the militia thing because it is how swiss military works they have and had almost no troops they were only special forces( grenadiers) and every men had to do a military service and still has to, so in case of war or imminent war the swiss army could mobilize a huge army iin 24 hours, with men that did their service at least 10 years ago and kept their service weapon at home.

i would annex austria and parts of italy and france (Himilain mountains) so germany doesnt get those extra troops and economy and italy doesnt have a front with france meaning france can focus better on 1 front meanwhile still appeasing germany and italy while at the same time invite both gold from allies and axis powers to boost the economy. i would join the war late against the axis but but i would do all the focuses to get level10 forts on all borders and make sure not to join the maginot line cause that screws up the other defences id go down the route to improve all the malittia until i can get normal units also id invest heavily into armoured trains and anti air. so yes france will fall but if you join just before they die then you keep the war going and france cant capitulate leaving both usa and britain have an ally that distracts most of the german and italian armies. So with all the core defence focuses level 10 forts anti air and armoured trains while eventually getting mountaineers your defence of austria switzerland would be impossible to invade.

From the 3 games I've played since the new dlc, Italy will basically always depose Mussolini before you can finish the war, forcing the Italian puppet on you, whether you want it or not. Happened to me even if I was non-aligned or fascist, which doesn't make much since when they're democratic.

Easiest way I got this was pissing off the Italians, get them to declare war on you for breaking neutrality and get the French to back you. I ended up getting pretty much the whole of Italy as a puppet by mid 38.

I agree greatly that the militia templates being unable to be changed to my own liking and peace conferences being broken asf. I was totally prepared to make some cool ass CC.NN divisions for Italy only to findout they are basically useless and its always worth it to just to take the assault battalion completely making the other choice useless and stupid to take. I also feel like the AI is stupid with plans as i've noticed myself and many others the AI just doesn't make its own airframes and they are absolutely garbage seeing how 400 of mine can take on 2000 easy. However its an okay DLC no step back was the pinnacle of what DLC should be.
