HOI4 How To Get Totally Free Tank Upgrades! "mostly" (hoi4 tank designer no step back)

This little known trick in the hoi4 tank designer lets you get free tank upgrades in hoi4 no step back. no longer will you loose army xp when replacing a weapon, radio, or researching a new tank to build. now you can get completely free upgrades thanks to this hoi4 tutorial without using your army xp. this also works for navy xp aswell. this way you can auto upgrade your ships just as easily with little to no effort. hope you all enjoy this hearts of iron 4 tutorial!

Thanks for this Carly - really made me smile. So have I understood how this works - save your tank/ship template as "auto upgrade", and when you research the next radio etc the template upgrades for no xp spend, but in your production queue it will still say you are producing an old model and you still need to refit your old tanks / ships to the new equipment, just like if you went back to boost the engine on your fighter ? On other things the perpetual 100% research bonus exploit seems to have been patched, but the dockyard output exploit still works, even when you stop doing the boost navy continuous focus. New patch that came out, made starting tanks cheaper. Used to be starting cost of 10 production, now that starting production is now around 5.

They’ve made ships and tanks so complicated and XP intensive at this point. I definitely feel less bad watching you have the same issues I have. It’s freaking screwy right. I don’t even think I can design a decent ship or tank at this point. I just build motorized rocket artillery and subs and call it good😂

The dive bombing spirit of airforce command + early air innovations + free trade + plane designer allows you to get fully upgraded CAS 2 in late 1937 for the low cost of 225 air EXP and 300 political power (not counting focuses) which is both cheaper than fighters, allowing you to get air superiority by sheer numbers, but also near immune to fighters, and sometimes in my games even got a positive K/D against fighters, all that while also being able to do tons of damage to ground units, by far the easiest way to make an overpowered airforce.

Pro hoi4 players forgetting that advanced submarine torpedo tubes are unlocked by researching submarines not researching torpedoes is a classic now XD. For better torpedo tubes, you need to research submarines. The torpedoes which u were researching were torpedo attachments for surface ships.

its not for free, it charged you the xp automatically when you learned the new tech then added it, if you go back you will see you went from 11 xp down to 10 xp once the new research was completed nd you just opened up the designer and saw it there and assumed you got it for free
