So interesting thing about Faustian II the Emperor of Haiti, historically he was a US marine stationed in Haiti where he met a tribal Queen of La Gonâve who he helped release, this Queen who was a practicer of Voodoo proclaimed Faustin as the Reincarnation of the First Emperor of Haiti Faustin I and declared him the Co-Monarch though it only lasted till 1929 He would later in life reenlist in the marines and would pass away in 1945, and he’s buried in Arlington Cemetery

The whole thing with Haiti and Poland is actually worth a read (wiki: Polish Haitians) Basically, Napoleon sent a Polish regiment to Haiti to assist in suppressing a slave revolt. However, some of them changed sides and assisted the slaves in creating Haiti as a independent republic. The first Haitian head of state called the Polish people "the White N-word of Europe" (well, he used another word, that I will not write on KZbin).

a little fact about Costa Rica, "Ticino" was real, although his surname was actually Tinoco. he and his brother had a dictatorship that lasted a couple of years before they were overthrown in a civil war, exiled to France and their political party banned from ever running. interestingly, communist parties were also banned during the Cold War, but they were unbanned in 1978, although they haven't really enjoyed much success, to be fair

Fun fact: A descendent of the Tinoco brothers actually tried to run for the Costa Rican deputy chamber (aka Asamblea Legislativa) in the 2010s. I don't remember if he won, since the deputy elections are all a list election by party. There are no individual candidacies except for President and Mayor (the latter is a separate election). Also: The Republican Party, which was banned after the 1948 civil war that was sparked over allegations of electoral fraud, where its boss Rafael Ángel Calderón Guardia (the father of social security in the country) was exiled as a traitor, but eventually allowed back even serving as ambassador, was re-founded by his son (and also former President) Rafael Ángel Calderón Fournier as the Christian-Social Republican Party or PRSC (with the same flag of the old party, which was the flag of Republican Spain).

Coffee covered meatball is not something I am familiar with over her in the Netherlands. Coffee bread is also not litteral bread with coffee on it. It might have some inside but most of the time its just dough in a swirl with glaze and raisins. Coffee Cookies though, those are great, it tastes nothing like coffee imo but that might depend on taste
