Hello again Iron Workshop! I need some help with syntax. So I created an event that triggers when you leave the EU. How do I make it so the country is said with the name of it? (Example: [GER.GetLeader]) This one is used for the country leader, when I studied the game it said ROOT. Is that the syntax needed, or must I change that? For example: [ROOT.GetCountry] Could you help me get the correct syntax for the country name?

You need to create an event where one of the options contains the effect: transfer_state = ID_OF_STATE_TO_TRANSFER And then link that event to a focus by including the line TAG_OF_COUNTRY_TO_FIRE_EVENT_FOR = { country_event = ID_OF_EVENT }

TBH I need more information and examples on the different options you can have in events. This tutorial really helped, but I am not sure of the things I can add to options. I can make it spawn a new event, add ideas, add war support, stability, experience and all set of different things. But how do I make it so that it unlocks a focus or a decision? Or maybe add opinion to a specific country or how to make a license? Those are interesting for me right now. I love these tutorials and many of them helped me with my mods.

The things you described are effects and modifiers, effects can be added in a very straightforward way by just putting them under the option = { As for modifiers, they are usually added via ideas, so you need to create an idea (can be a hidden idea by not giving it an icon) and then apply the modifier to it. You can see a list of possible effects and modifiers in the HOI4 wiki which I have a link to in the video description.

@@TheIronWorkshop Yes, I found out how to do that with a lot of reading in the game files, but I still don't get one thing. How to unlock decisions and focuses via event decisions? I saw some flags that are being set up, but where do I need to list them and how do they work? Any ideas?

I will probably have a proper lesson about using decisions in the future which will explain how to interact with them through other parts of the game. To unlock focuses you can just put always = no in the focus to make it never be available and unlock it via an event by using the unlock_national_focus = FOCUS ID command, it also works in decisions.

I cannot get the localisation to work, it only shows "timekeepers.1.d" or "timekeepers.1.t", I've made sure that the file structure is correct, the file is a .yml, and it has UTF-8-BOM encoding but it's still not working

Hello there. I put a condition "is_subject_of" under the "option" block but it does not work. Is there any explanation to this? I have read somewhere that certain scopes are not supported for triggers. If that's the case, what would the alternative be?

I made a event with 2 choices, I set the ai chance on both of them to equal 100, and the events work when players are playing as the countries. But when ever the ai get a event it doesn't do anything. I don't know why. How do I fix this? (I'm only using events in national focuses if that has any effect)

So I'm having a strange issue with my news event. I can trigger it from the console, and it works fine, everything shows up as expected. But, when I set it to happen randomly using mean_time_to_happen the event fires, and the effects actually are implemented, but the news graphic never shows up. Any ideas?

Off topic question but I have been trying to follow your EU4 modding guides but the Europa Universalis folder looks very different than It did in your video. I know they made changes to mods in 1.29. Is this part of the changes?

Try just grabbing an event image from the vanilla game, open it in Pain.net, change it to whatever you need and then just go to file ---> save as. It should give you the correct format automatically.

You have to make the country first but just without and states. Then once they accept it so that said country becomes the owner of (in this case) all polish and Lithuanian states. It is also probably a good idea for that country to gain cores on all states.

So I've got a lil problem. When I'm trying to launch the game with the event mod, it won't start. I have tried it to launch both in the debug mod and the non debug mod. When I press the play button the game just crashes, in the debug the game just doesn't open.

I suspect you are starting the game with other mods without realizing it. Make sure to open the game launcher and click on manage mods and then switch to a list view and make sure all other mods are disabled.

If you have brackets that are not closing and thus are breaking the event entry the game won't recognize it. Make sure everything closes properly and that your mod that contains the event is activated.

Super events are created using scripted/custom GUI and have very little to do with the built in events that this lesson deals with. If you want to create your own you will need some basic understandings about custom GUI, I suggest you watch this lesson (kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6etZZtpjaiLhZo) and then take a look at the existing code of these super events that exist in mods, this will allow you to create your own.
