Yes, the tall singer in the back row is their rotating guest vocalist Jose Rosario, Jr, regular group member Cesar was on his right, and regular member Eli was on his left. Jose is also featured in Voiceplay's "Drunken Sailer" and "My Mother Told Me"

The best thing about having a name people find difficult to pronounce is that when you pick up the phone and someone butchers your name, you know it’s a sales call or someone else you don’t want to talk to. So you can hang up before they get into their spiel and go on with your day. Saves your time and theirs as well. Have you reacted to “What Do You Do With a Drunken Sailor” yet? That’s another brilliant sea shanty by Voiceplay. Great reaction!

One of my favourites. These guys are so creative. Before they create an arrangement their has to be the initial concept and that's what amazes me. The imagination that starts the process.

Let's add to your pirate shanties - Drunken Sailor. You got Jose name right. This was the first VoicePlay I heard. The first KZbin music I heard was Geoff's Monster Mash and I went looking for more - found Hoist the Colours. What a life! More Viking - My Mother Told Me and Valhalla Calling, more gaming - Dragonborn Comes Skyrim and Halo Theme. All of VoicePlay have worked at Disney or Universal in the past, and learned the value and enjoyment of the theatrics with their spectators. It makes them a singular group within the a capella world.

So excited for more Voiceplay! If you haven't seen it yet, you need to check out their cover of Drunken Sailor! And speaking of mispronounced names, a lot of reactors mispronounced or misspelled Geoff's name so often that it has now become a kind of inside joke with him and his fans. So when he clones himself in his solo work, the clones are named Jeff, Jeoph (pronounced gee-off), Goff, and Daryl. To be fair, Daryl wasn't a misspelling or mispronunciation. He appeared in Ghost Riders in the Sky and Geoff said he just looked like a Daryl. Lol.

Whether or not you react to them, you should be told to check out some of their 'Shorts' and not so Shorts for the Pirate/Sailing theme as well as the full size songs. They have (as a real 'short') "Yo Ho! A Pirate's Life For Me" and "The Last Shanty", then as a 'Biggie' there's "Wellerman". Then, not 'Pirate' but instead 'Viking' brings you to "My Mother Told Me" followed by "Valhalla Calling". After all, Vikings sailed the big, bad sea, too! And really stretching the ocean theme brings "Moana" and "The Little Mermaid" Medleys. But PACE yourself! No need to get all pruney and waterlogged all at once!

When they come out with a new one, it is my favorite for a while. But I always return to a few of them over and over again that compete for number one. This is definitely the top of that list. Originally, Eli was supposed to be singing the part that José sang. They had another guest artist lined up but he couldn’t make it out due to Covid travel restrictions. José had just come home to Orlando because the Chicago performance of Hamilton he was in had to close. So he was a last-minute substitution but couldn’t hit those belts that Eli can. So although he had already recorded his part, Eli had to learn the new part and re-record. It’s one of the things that I find so amazing about this group. No matter which guest artist it is they always fit in like they’ve always been part of the group. As a patron, I get to see some of the behind-the-scenes which is always entertaining. But in this one we got to see Cesar kind of freak out. He and José attended the same high school and were in theatrical performances together. They hadn’t seen each other for a while. He was extremely excited🎉. In addition to performing on stage, José was also a member of Rockapella, the first modern a cappella group I had heard when the television program Carmen San Diego came out. A few other favorites of mine are the Queen in 5 Minutes medley, Boy Bands in 5 Minutes and Dragonborn/ Skyrim. Original member Earl, who was the high tenor until 2020, appears in the first two along with J None who was the baritone at that time. In Dragonborn, Cesar was baritone and his bestie and sometime roommate, Omar Cardona, is the guest. That is the same lineup as their new space shanty as well as their cover of Aerosmith’s Dream On.

Thank you for sharing this! I love Queen so excited for that one. And i grew up in the 90's so i should know a few boyband songs as well (i hope).
@janetdw6 ай бұрын
@@SaeedReacts. The Queen medley is outstanding. I’ve heard that the production is based on a burst appendix that Earl, the high tenor, experienced. It has an underlying story based on the characters (lords of the underworld) that they are portraying. So when they flash the explanations of who each of the guys is representing you might want to pay attention. I am in my 70s and my son is in his 40s and I recognized every song but one. I’m pretty sure you’ll recognize even the older ones as they’re pretty much classics that people do not typically think of as boy bands.

You might want to pace yourself a little. Give your mind a chance to process everything. I know you just want to keep going, but make sure you're taking care if you're physical and mental health too. With that said, how about recommendations for some older throw backs including a group if songs that tell a story: Starting with Trapped in 3 Minutes by Billie Eilish continuing with Panic at The Disc in 4 Minutes (parts 1&2) Then Queen in 5 Minutes .
