I'm on my 2nd pair of Bondi 8s and if you're someone who thought you could never run again due to age or you're worried about your knees, let's just say I have zero pain when I wear them and can run for miles and miles. I'm not a big time runner (usually doing 4.3 miles 3 days a week), but I've done 10 miles in them and my hips and knees (the two areas I'm most concerned about) were 100% fine. I might tried the Clifton 8s just to see if they give me anything different, but I'm very happy with my Bondi 8s.

I like the shoes a lot! They are so comfortable. There’s some cushion so at first I needed to get used to it but when you start walking / running, they feel amazing! The size also fit perfectly. No need to size up. I got the blue fog color so I don’t wear them often because I don’t want them to get dirty haha

I went to the shoe store to compare bondi 9 and clifton 9 since i don't own one. For me, clifton 9 has a nice feel and comfortable to my knee and ankle. I felt lighter. Bondi 9 is comfortable, but it's a little stiff on my sole. So, i ordered clifton 9 since I work 12 hrs in the medical field. 😃

Thanks and great review. I was just diagnosed with PTTD while using the Nike Invincible 3. I was told to look into HOKA because they’re more of a stable shoe. I also get plantar fasciitis flare ups every so often. In your opinion is the Bondi 8 the better of all other HOKA shoes for my condition? I don’t use for running, just neighborhood walks, about 3-4 miles daily.

The first and last Hoka shoes that I will purchase (Bondi 8). It is like running in soft sand, and these runners managed to knock 1 minute/km off my average run time. They just suck the life from your legs as you increase time and kms. I would avoid these shoes for anyone that 1) enjoys running and 2) wants to keep enjoying running. Where they might add value is for recovery days, or for people that are training for an event that has them running through knee deep mud or in very soft sand across sand dunes. I am a heavy runner (90kg+) that runs 50km+ each week, and have not had an injury in about 5 years. These shoes changed that. My knees and ankles were inflamed and sore for days after running a slow 10km. I usually wear Saucony or On Cloud shoes, and have recently switched back...and the muscle soreness disappeared...and my times magically came back up to my normal average!! They are OK and comfortable for wearing around the house as a pair of slippers, but as a shoe for running - i would not recommend.

this years i purchased hoka bondi 7 and mach 4 to try something different. However it is not a good marriage. i Just don't like the plush experience of Hoka. The bondi might be a good shoe for 9-10/mile Easy runs but my easy runs are a lot faster. Also the mach 4 is not the shoe for me. Not able tot run 6:30/mile with these shoes. I always feel tired after running with hoka. IT was worth trying out and the experiment failed. Firma shoes are my type of shoes

Hoka's fall apart quickly but more disturbing is the warranty which they say is one year. You will have to send them back at your expense and wait for then to decide wether or not they want to do anything. The store you bought them will do nothing to help. Mine wore through the inside heal on both shoes in less than one month! Just stay away and buy another brand or take $180 and light it on fire its about the same.
