One the best things I love about the first Mach x is its stability. I prefer it for steady long runs. Speed minus stability isn’t what I’m looking for so might give the update a miss.

Been loving the cielo x1 for my long runs though wish I known the Mach X2 would be this good. Especially for a 3:30-3:35 first marathon I don't really benefit from my NB elites (they're almost too stiff and plated) and just need something like the SC trainer, more cushioned Mach X. Hoka is really turning things around 👏🏼

Lighter and more Peba Foam sounds good! The first one was decent but I didn' t really notice the Peba much apart from a little more cushion in the forefoot.

How does it compare to the Mach 6? It felt a bit firm at first, but broke in after ~50k. After more than 300k they still feel great.

Unsure about most, but the Mach 6 was really tight in the toe box. Was really looking forward to the Mach X2, but the lack of a heal counter may cause me to stock up on the first model.

So, love this shoe so far and I do need some stability. It has enough for me, heel is not an issue! I tend to add a little pronation support under the insert and that works well here. The only problem I have is getting used to a shoe pushing me to run faster - it really pushes you! So I’ll have to use it as a speed day shoe and one to build towards bigger race days. WOW I just wish I were 30 years younger 😢

Fit narrow like Mach 6? Even in wide Mach 6 was narrow in the toebox. Only Cielo X1 works great for me.

Agree I feel like Hoka is “cutting weight” by narrowing this current generation of shoes, starting with the Arahi 7 onward at least.

Yeah. Mach 5 has wide version and that's feel like wide. But Mach 6, I mean, wide feel like normal. And non-wide feel like narrow. I think I will just pass mach line this year.

Why didn't you mention the warning on the running warehouse website about the heell cup and the lack of any cushioning. and structure. The mach X had a fully structured and padded heel cup, the X2 doesn't. People have complained that the heel cup has caused irritation and bleeding in the achilles area.

The prices on the super trainers don’t bother me at all my whole life I would never get 300 miles out of a pair of sneakers. They would feel dead and now I’m doing like 500. I don’t even want to use this shoe anymore, but they still feel great.

Hoka has really been improving with their road shoes. The trail shoes are still in 2020.

@@timtamothy51 well, that is a hard question. I loved their Speedgoat 4 and EVO. However, we're now at SG6 and it is still basically the same. After posting this comment I just saw a first impression of the Tecton X 3 so maybe I'll have to eat my words. But that's their race shoe. The normal ones are still the same. At the moment my favourite is the Endorphin Edge.

@@patrickvanderwal6324 ah yes I see what you're saying. I don't have that history with Hoka trail shoes so didn't think of it that way. I use the Mafate Speed 4 because it's wide enough for me, good grip and inherently stable - not too tall, not too soft or propulsive but I feel it moves me forwards fairly well. Dunno what I'll try next but Saucony generally doesn't work for me

X2 정말 좋습니다. 쿠션특히 놀랍습니다. 정말 탕탕하고 부드럽고, 앞 뒤 정말 풍성합니다. 또 달릴때 안정적입니다. 충격흡수 / 반발력 / 안정성 모두 부족함 없습니다. 앞발/뒷발 주법 관계없지만, 특히 포어러너들이 반길만한 것 같습니다. 뒤꿈치 힐은 잘 묶고 땀/수분 등으로 마찰생기면 거슬리지 않습니다. 걸을때/서잇을 때 여느 플레이트 신발처럼 갸우뚱 하게 발이 돌아가지만, 달릴때는 안정적입니다. 느린조깅속도에서도 쿠션을 느낄 수 잇고 더 빠르게 뛰면 아디다스 프로3처럼 단단하지만 쿠션잇게 바뀝니다. Eva+peba라그래서 슈블2정도 되겟지 했는데, 더 폭신거리고 더 탱탱합니다. 슈블2가 약간 운동화느낌으로 편하게 신을 수 있는 느낌이면(성능이 나쁘단말은 아님) 마하x2는 공차러 가기전에 축구화신고 나가는 느낌? 갑피착용감이 약간 꼭맞아서 호불호는 나뉠거같습니다. 정말정말 재미잇는 신발입니다.

In this review, though, he mentioned the "one complaint" at the start, and, in spite of his positive remarks, more complaints trickled in. Meg had some too. This shoe is $190! There are tons of shoes out there now. It's good times for runners, so many options for our feet. :)

I’ll take a little heal lift for a comfortable fast day trainer.oddly enough I couldn’t take heal lift at all when I was young ,I would probably over tighten my shoes all the time but now as long as I don’t have an adverse affect it doesn’t bother me at all

There’s no doubt Hoka makes great running shoes. My 2 complaints… a) Hoka has some of the ugliest colorway. Who is making these selections?!?!….. 2) Why does “Hoka” branding have to be so big on the shoe. The shoe looks like a billboard. Can it be more subtle or make it smaller. It just makes the shoe uglier especially when the selection of colors are already bad….. again they make great shoes. Not knocking them for the performance, comfort, materials, etc…. Just design elements. I’ve heard several people say “yes, they’re ugly but so comfortable”. They’re like the crocs of the running shoe world.

They started doing that because people didn't recognize their logo. The only branding that people recognize is their name, so that's what they're going with.

Now that they’re well known they can get a design to represent the name of Hoka like Nike with the check… adidas with the three stripes… etc. Having “HOKA” plastered on the side of the shoe in big bold letters mixed in with the ugly colorway doesn’t look good…. IMO of course. You might like it and if you do that’s great but the running/fitness community that I interact with don’t like the colorway or branding on the shoe. It’s one reason Sketchers has failed in sales with their running shoes. They have made some great running shoes…. But… butt…. 🍑…. They have ugly colorway and branding and that is why you will rarely see runners/athletes wearing them. Performance matters but you want to look good and feel good as well.

Crazy that the running industry can’t get away from these plated shoes knowing that they’re causing a spike in lower leg stress fractures. There’s no reason to have a plate in a daily trained. Not a single good reason.
