Love this shoe. Raced my last marathon in the Rocket X2 and this is a perfect long run training partner. I agree that most of the rest of the current Hoka lineup needs an overhaul.

I love the Mach X. I’ve been using the Mach line for several generations, and the 1-2 punch of the Mach 5 and X is great. I do my long runs in the X (15mi @ cruise yesterday ~7:45-8:00) and it is great felt very fresh at the end. For anything fast, or under 8-10 miles I like the Mach 5 as my favorite nonplated shoe!

Love my Hoka Mach X shoes. They are my daily trainer for any distance. No concerns for me about durability after 128 miles. My shoe of the year. Great video!

Interesting... I'm gonna need to see more of this to get back into Hoka though. In Australia, the Mach X is super expensive!

That's very good to hear Andy - love the way Hokas feel, but have had serious issues with their durability. Let's see if this is the turning point that will make them an option again

Not sure if you saw Mach X 2 at TRE in Austin last week, but the Hoka reps were stating that they put even more of the PEBA foam in version 2 and changed the plate geometry somewhat to get a little easier roll versus v1. If they keep everything else the same, that will be an absolute banger in 2024!

Yes! Thats exciting to be honest, I would love to try that one!

Only issue I've had with mine, after about 500km is that my heel counter got holes. But that happens to just about all my running shoes. I think they are great shoes.

Mine are at the end of there life, About 400 miles. Literally my favorite daily. For me I use it for everything except recovery runs or on race day.

Mach X has become one of my favorite shoes and I’m not a hoka lover. I actually really dig the combination of EVA and peba for the purpose it serves

Good description. Like to Andy. Have a great training day.

EVA is horrible in cold weather. Peba all the way. Only had a pair of Mach due to heel rubber disappearing at 250.

I have used a few different hoka over the last 2 years for both road and trail, and get at least 400 miles from them. Is that bad or good in terms of wear and what would I expect from other makes? I run about 55 miles per week.
@TheFODRunner Жыл бұрын
if you get 400 out of them thats pretty decent!! a lot of people cant get 300 out of some of them!

What are your thoughts on the Boston 12 are they good for 10k and half marathon distances
@TheFODRunner Жыл бұрын
I havent tried the boston 12 sadly! Tim Grose (fellow youtuber) has them, might be worth checking his videos out!

Hoka lost me with Rincon, great out of box, but became too unresponsive before 100 miles and rubber breaks down. Lost faith in the brand. Will wait until they improve
@HaiLeQuang Жыл бұрын
I have Bondi 8 and after 150 miles, there is 0 decrease of responsive. The foam is still very much alive. I love Hoka
@TheFODRunner Жыл бұрын
Yeah the rincon were such a dissapointment, I loved mine until 100 miles then they just died....

I love my Hoka Bondi 8 road shoes, but the bottom wear is atrocious!
@sambarlow5449 Жыл бұрын
what do you do with all your shoes you ditch after 100 miles?
@TheFODRunner Жыл бұрын
Either keep them for walking, keep running in them if i like them, or donate them... we did have a couple of runners local to me who had size 13 that I gave them too but theyve stopped running sadly!

Mach 6 or Mach X ?
@TheFODRunner7 ай бұрын
Honestly? Mach 6, but it’s a close one!
@codyjung69636 ай бұрын
For what kind of runner/use case would you choose the Mach X over the Mach 6? Coming from Rebel V4 which is very fun and natural feeling, but I want more support for moderate and long runs. Thanks!

Omg please clean the shoes… I’m ocd I know but no excuse for dirty shoes 😂 wash them when get back from run, quick towel off then let them dry
