Thank you for sharing. I too just bought a pair of boots for my coming trip in March. I intend to also buy a pair of slip-on crampons for added safety outdoors.

Hi! Where can I buy reasonably priced winter boots, same as your everday boots in the video? We will be in Sapporo and Otaru late January 2024. 😊 We will also be in Tokyo before going to Sapporo, will it be cheaper ro buy in Tokyo than Sapporo? Thank you!

Thanks for watching and commenting. I bought my boots at Shoe Plaza in eastern Hokkaido. And there are law-price items you can find at ABC Mart and Aeon too. I think there are many such stores in Japan. But I recommend buying snowboots in Hokkaido. I think the stores in Hokkaido have more products of good snowshoes! If you don't want to spend money on shoes, you can use the attachment spike. I've never used it, but it's cheaper than new shoes.

@@HokkaidoJapanTours Thank you for the advice! How about for bubble jackets with hood? Where do you recommend to buy them? I am okay with stores similar to book off's too 😊

@@achineelia If you want to buy clothes, UNIQLO, Shimamura, or the same as shoes, but Aeon is cheaper. There is also a recycling store called Second Street, but I think it is not so cheap!

@@HokkaidoJapanTours ah yes, we also have Uniqlo here, but wanted to know other options 😊 Thank you so much!!

I'm a Singaporean who has never experienced snowfall before. All I wish is to walk around in a snowy day in the city area, shopping and eating. When is the best time to visit Hokkaido when it's not too cold that I've to wear many layers and yet I can see snowfall? Please kindly advise. Thank you.

Thanks for watching and commenting! sorry for the late reply. Where will you come to Hokkaido? I think it depends on the place and porpose I recommend January and February for good experience with snow. But you know, it has weekness of traffic accident by the weather in the snow season. Please note it. I wish you have a nice trip!!

Hello! Is it okay to just wear sneakers in January? Do we really need to wear winter boots? Thank you!
@HokkaidoJapanTours Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. Where will you visit in Hokkaido? Basically, there is snow on the ground everywhere in Hokkaido in January, so we don't wear summer sneakers in the winter. Depending on where you go, the snow may have melted in some places, so it may be okay to check the situation and consider buying winter shoes.

@@HokkaidoJapanTours Thanks! Sapporo, specifically. Last week of January but only for 4 days. Do you think, running shoes/sneakers +waterproof spray + attachment spike would be okay?
@HokkaidoJapanTours Жыл бұрын
@@dustinjardinero6596 Maybe? Actually I don't know because I never tried it :0. If you want to walk in deep snow, it would be better to have boots, but that depends on the weather... Anyway, I think Sapporo is pretty better for walking like that.

If just going for travel, do we need to spray the waterproof spray on our shoes also?
@HokkaidoJapanTours Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching this video. And I appreciate your comment. I spray my shoes to make them last longer and to keep them from getting dirty. If you're just using the shoes for travel, I don't think you necessarily need to spray them. I guess it depends on the person though.
