The cool thing about this encounter with Jesus and Peter is that after Jesus reaches out his hand and helps Peter, Peter still needs to walk on the water back to the boat. So that means, yes he doubted. But he has a quick lesson. But then he still needs to get back to the boat, with Jesus. it's not like Jesus was going to throw him back onto the boat. Peter would have to walk those few steps back to the boat. Yes! What a hero! We often want to give Peter a hard time. But he was the one who put up his hand. he stepped out the boat. yes he freaked out. But he learnt on the spot. And he got back into a boat, a new person. How cool is that!
