good video mate, I've been playing motors too with a blue 253 that's had the "y" ports deleted all with the similar mods to yours as far as oil and things. good job getting those awesome pistons , I'm running the flat tops and 10.1.

Nice work that thing will fly mate do you think I could get my 1969 ht 308 block re sleeved as it 60 thou with bad grooves in all bores will it hold together as a mild engine or am I looking for a new block 253 ?

not bad, but when the std oil pump driveshaft snaps at 8000rpm, all of the shiny stuff ends up in the bin no matter what was done & or no matter who built the engine.

Haven't had one fail yet. usually when things break its from other problems upstream.

Nick Imperial Engines, well I can show you a 253 308 oil pump that was in service in a true daily driver for more than 5years, then one day the oil pump drive shaft snapped driving in the traffic at the speed limit. probably caused by all the daily 8000 rpm excursions.. the shaft was a new genuine holden item, as was the new bushing when the engine was assembled new. the pump was still good when I pulled it off to inspect it. unfortunately Damage to the bearings & crankshaft from No oil pressure is irreversible. my custom fitted H-Beam Rods & the highly modified ford y-block offset ground crankshaft is now Junk! Nothin's indestructible, everything dies eventually.

@@brentonk461 8000 rpm , Daily? Honestly, I worked for an engine remanufacturer in Sydney for 25 years and I've never seen a broken Holden V8 oil pump drive. Now that said I don't believe it is impossible but I'd like to see the evidence, just for future reference.
