Hey, the long ones work for Derek at Vice Grip Garage and he is approaching 2 million subscribers. I would love to see your channel grow to that level and beyond. There must be plenty of classic Aussie cars waiting to be saved by someone like yourself. If you had a channel of that size it would enable you to take on projects that were previously too expensive and probably seemed to be an impossible project. Come on guys and girls, lets get Mick to that first milestone of 100k so we can have a huge Aussie channel saving all those beautiful classic Aussie cars.

Watching your bloopers at the end always warms my heart, as it makes me realise that I'm not the only bloke that cracks the shits when confronted with a frozen, snapped or threaded bolt or a stuck piece of interior trim etc. My missus says she always knows when I'm working on one of my vehicles as she can hear me from the house loudly yelling curses and profanities and hurling stuff around the garage in frustration. Gotta have a good vent though to clear the head first, so that you can step back for a moment to collect yourself and then work through the problem to find a solution eh!

Awesome video Mick, I sat through the whole 2 and a half hours. I love one tonners! And I recently just got out of the concrete industry, doing house slabs. Few of the old boys would talk about how these machines would haul crush rock, bags of rapid set, small sheets of steel reinforcement and tools on the back of em' in the 70's and 80's. Thommo was definitely a real work horse and he shows his character. Would be good to see a few more videos on him. I wish I could own a tonner like that, except I'd have a tough little 253 in her! There's a one-tonner HQ near me in Toowoomba parked under a tree. Been there for over 10 years with a spare cab on the tray. Thought they were going to do something with it 2 years ago when they cut back the trees, nope, still sitting there. Also have a VR\VS era Statesman parked in the drive that hasn't moved in over 7 years. Thought it might be just some old farmer but they have a fairly new car. Guess the ute came off the farm and was a retirement project, and the Statesman just got old and parked.

I worked with him for 15 years and drove it numerous times. Funny thing was, the 4 speed had a problem with the selector and used to get stuck in reverse and 1st gear at the same time. They can pause it and watch later to treat it like multiple episodes. The one tonner is a great car to build and very useful when they are functional. Other than panels, you can get everything to fix them. In fact I can get more parts for my HQ one tonner than the CV8Z 2005 Monaro. Looking forward to the future instalments.

Brings me back to my apprentice days. I did my trade on these cars. Rebuilding the fuel pumps, carbies, and run the hone through the wheel cylinders. Bit of rubber grease and new cups, all good to go.

Great clip Mick. Great to see you back online again. It is a long clip, only just had enough beers for it. I never knew I had a tightening hammer, gee they're bloody useful. I must have worked around some real dipsticks, coz they all said they were called multigrips. Keep up the great work, really enjoy your stuff. Nuff talking, shut up and get into it.

You ought to pull in to Thomlinsons Concrete with the truck, they might get a kick out of seeing it. They may give you some war stories that belong to it too! It came out great sir!

G'day, An awesome video. Tomo has certainly come a long way in just a few days. He was just wasting his time in a field now he's got shiny new wheels and he's able to cruise around your driveway. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have planned for Tomo's future. So thanks for sharing Tomo's rebirth ✌️ Peace from Melbourne/Pakenham 3810.

Great video! Great camera work! Its a shame we Australians over complicated our car industry (2 save some polar bears) when these 70's vehicles could be repaired serviced in our sheds!

Great work Mick ..Good to see another H series rescued ..being a 1979 build with RTS its a proper flash HZ with a HQ style front , though might be worth checking the chassis goozeneck behind front wheel as they were prone to cracking especially with this one's hard life but it is repairable Looking forward to see your plans unfold on this one...again great work love your channel Cheer Trev

Great stuff Mick, A grade content, loved every minute. "Thomo" is coming along great 👍. They're a great model the old HZ, I had a 253 V8 '77 wagon, (the first year of HZ), with the " Radial Tuned Suspension", it'd go past everything except a petrol station. Top marks, can't wait for the next instalment, cheers mate!

Hey Mick, when you have finished with this one you will have to give it to me. After all it has my name on the doors and yes I have been known as "Tommo" all my life (63yo now). On a side note- I live in the central west NSW and I have seen this tonner in Gulgong and at times in Mudgee in the past while travelling about working, I even have a photo of it somewhere taken probably in the mid "90's when I first saw it, had to- my name and all. Had a look for it but can't find it as yet, I'll let you know if I find it but not holding my breath.
