Holden VE Commodore V8 Engine Control Module (ECM) Active Fuel Management (AFM/DOD) Disable

Theres many reasons why someone wants to disable the Active Fuel Management (AFM, also known as Displacement on Demand, DOD) in their vehicle, common reasons include:
1) Remove horrible exhaust drone from the car when AFM is activated
2) Reduce uneven wear and tear on the engine
3) Reduce oil consumption usage
4) Installation of non AFM based lifters and hardware
Commonly it is called an AFM/DOD delete when disabling this functionality, which is now available through OBDsync with two very simple selections.
The two options in OBDSync relating to AFM/DOD include:
- AFM/DOD Status
- AFM/DOD Fault Codes
The AFM/DOD Status will disable the AFM functionality so it will stop dropping into 4cylinder mode.
Whereas the AFM/DOD Fault codes is only required if the AFM hardware has been removed as this causes fault codes and the engine to run in limp mode if it is still searching for the AFM hardware.
