Kim feeling bad for winning and the girls taking time to compose so they didn't ruin the winning feeling for Kim and Penn just speaks volumes of the quality people you all are.

This season was overall special, for the first time in many years, all the teams behaved as normal, caring human beings. There was no scheming, no alliances, thank god non of those u turns. Everybody ran the race on their own merits. And at the finale i would have been equally happy for each of the teams to win. Still congratulations to Kim and Penn, they won as the best racers, not the most conniving or scheming.

This was the first season where I genuinely liked all of the teams. The only drama was the pandemic - not the people. Great season!

Not for my husband and I. Our bias was strong because we favored Kim and Penn 😂 and we constantly got annoyed at other teams. I did hear from my husband that this was the nicest season because he's watched other seasons and he said people were terrible.
@maryroberts5892 жыл бұрын
I think there was plenty of drama, but it was mostly positive. Those lead changes in the finale were insane! And although I came to watch as a solid Holderfan, there were compelling factors to all of the other teams that made me cheer for them too. I was legitimately torn at the end between wanting Penn & Kim to win or wanting Cayla & Raquel to win as a female team. Plus there was part of my heart rooting hard for Arun & Natalia as father/daughter and Lulu & Lala as twins/sisters/female team. ❤💔❤ (Sorry to Ryan & Dusty, because they were fantastic as supportive friends as well as father & advocate for a worthy cause, I couldn't bring myself to root for a team with such obvious advantages except for the times they were falling behind.) 😉💪
@jessicaross72882 жыл бұрын
@@mississippitornado6842 watching people be needlessly mean to one another and shouting at one another just to "have drama" isn't entertaining. The race is dramatic all on its own without horrible people behaving horribly.

I think the last three teams had something very important in common...mutual support and no blame. You guys didn't waste time or emotional bandwidth on who messed up or who had a hard time. It was just accepted that the challenges were hard and that everyone was doing the very best they could. And I think emotional support leads to physical support and more energy. I think that, when it got to the end of the race, that sort of ongoing support was key. We were SO impressed by how supportive those last three teams were of their partners. Best AR ever!

There are so many reasons racers cite for why more female teams don't win (I'm with Kim on the bathroom and period thing being a big part of it), but nobody takes a step back to look at the entire framework of The Amazing Race and note that the race's Detours and Roadblocks are, on the whole, biased towards men's success in general, very much in the same way so many institutions are unconsciously (or not) biased in favor of men. It isn't a level playing field, which means it's ultimately an unfair race. The production teams would do well to have people who specialize in this kind of thing sit down with them and talk through it - and maybe brainstorm more challenges that are equally weighted for all. And the proof is in the pudding on this one: if the challenges were evenly weighted, then out of 33 seasons there would be far more than three winning female teams. People like to use this fact to prove that "men are better/stronger/faster than women," but all it really proves is that the challenges on The Amazing Race are not thought out with equality in mind. Kim - when you get that job as an Amazing Race production member, maybe you can give them a few ideas :D
@holdernessfamilylaughs2 жыл бұрын
Also, fewer female teams are represented. So there’s that. Fewer apply. But yes, I would say there needs to be a broader range of tasks and make sure they are tested by men AND women. They may be now, I don’t know. They tell us be eg little as contestants. But I do know the production is amazing and I’m sure they’ve thought of this stuff.
