Best thing about this music is that it perfectly captures how the overblown bombast of the original would sound if it was performed by a handful of itinerant bards in a smoky olde English tavern, right down to the overflowing tankards, buxon taverm wenches and flickering torchlight as they play (while the youngest member of the troupe goes around the tavern with his hat in his hands, asking for coins).

@@peachesplums It's (an attempt at) middle English, which is the rough way to describe english between about 1100 and 1500. It kept a lot of remnants of old english, with new norman influences. I think the reason it sounds a bit scottish is because scots english kept a lot of the middle english features :)

A bit random having one very clearly Old-English-spelt word in with the rest which looks mostly late Middle English or Elizabethan, but I appreciate the effort 🙂.
