Hi Joe .. Unfortunately your Turbo noise is probably the Balance shafts in the engine , not the Turbo , I,m a Jag specialist and have come across this noise too many times , So you could do with getting checked over by a Jag tech . Or main Dealer , before you waste £500 on a recon Turbo .. I had one last month on a XF with 22k ,, ended up sending back to BCA ,,,, Good luck with it mate 🚗🚗

I honestly rate auction stock as filth and buy bangers. I couldn't buy online only proper metal 8-10k. I've bought 10,000 auction cars. Mind. I just buy shit at shit prices. Lucky dip. Don't want blow 2-3k with ease so have cars owing out door under £600. It's fun and unsolubrious

JLR have without doubt gone down Chinese base line quality German prices. That's called being conned. Dacia much much more reliable. Sorry story really. Now Jag selling nowt 2025-26 until new all EV range out. I think they're a gonna unless come back like Volvo Polestar Chinese owner strength. Very sad. E type. XJ. XFR. Used to work for a car buying company , did 400 miles a day buying cars , all over the UK , I don't understand why anyone would buy cars at auction these days , ( I did when I had my own garage 24 years ago as most people did then) , but buying private you get chance to roadtest , look at full paperwork , check car over , it's a no brainer , most cars are at auction for a reason .

How else is a car dealer supposed to get cars at trade price and make a few grand healthy margin on each car then? Buying from auctions gives you that option. This guy makes 2-4 grand margin on cars he won’t be able to do that buying cars privately and won’t be able to get cars at trade price buying from probate sellers.

Exactly this. I like to cherry pick my cars buying privately is always the best or off other traders. Being able to test drive the car and see the paperwork is massive! And the margins in auction cars is no where near enough for the risk involved

@@dailystriver2727 buying privately like “carsbroughtformore” car wow auction (test drive before handing money over), dealing with others trade (primarily where I get my stock) part exchanges is another income. There is loads of ways. Auctions like bca, Aston Barclay, g3 are a waste of time and your gambling. You want to take a calculated risk I’ve brought n sold 40 cars this year (I’m just a small trader currently) only lost money on 2 cars (give too much money for them). So auctions is definitely not the way for sourcing majority of your stock similar to how joe was doing it Cus you will get burnt a lot more then you like unfortunately

i just got 9 year old car from Hyundai, they painted the arch, only slight scratch and refurbished the wheels, got 12 months warranty and 12 months breakdown cover and about £600 cheaper than non Hyundai garages what only offered 3 months warranty and wheels were not getting done. over all i had a good deal and full service history from same garage owned by a retired staff member runs very smooth all works even heated wheel and seats work and climate control, not bad in a 2015 i20 well specked the highest trim level in a city car for age

I once bought an identical Discovery Sport from a prestige and Land Rover garage in Berkhamstead. Got royally shafted by them twice. First time buying it and second time falling for their assurances that they had fixed the faulty 2.0 Ingenuim engine.

And when you was driving the Alhambra and talking about selling it, I think you should say (or get Sophie to say) it's at trade price only, sold as seen. Then that way they can't come back and you still get a bit of cash in your back pocket

try changing oil in disco sport as dont think it had any history you said,,,, Its got bearing whine which could mean the oil is to thick or its getting starvation it goes away when up to temp as the oil gets thinner

Qashqais of that age are prone to the starter failing, also when getting upto motorway speed and sticking in cruise Control see if a red engine management light comes on, this would happen if the egr valve is blocked, the car gets to 3000 revs and fault occurs, the egr can be removed and cleaned.

Good to know, mate. Thank you. 👍 I bought a 2010 2.0 dci, auto with awd, a couple of years ago, because I needed a hack to get down some rough track. Well serviced but needed jobs doing for mot. All jobs done but as is me, I’m ending up doing everything I can to it. I can’t even abuse a Qashqai and I hate to say it but I’ve actually grown to like it 😂 Same wheels as this one (it’s a Tekna) but they’re all peeling so I want to keep them for winter wheels (came with decent Cross Climates) and buy a second hand set. At the moment, the cruise works ok’ish. It’s does hunt gears if kept in auto but in manual, it’s fine so I’ll bear that in mind. 👍

Japanese cares are right hand drive. Volume button is nearer driver. German cars are origianlly left hand drive so easier for Left hand drive seated person

Aaah the good old Ingenium engine Think I mentioned before my wife’s 2019 Range Rover had literally 40k and had a Turbo, timing chain, thermostat & housing, Head gasket, transfer case pissing out oil, seat belt, 2 front springs snapped, and god knows what else. An absolute f**king dog of a car. Swapping it in for a Porsche Macan GTS - and yes I know how expensive they are to maintain.

On that discovery. Drop the sump and look at oil. If its all sludgy theres you problem. The sludge restricts oil getting to turbo

We used to use them as drop off cars when I was young. Clio’s mainly because they could fit through small gaps😅good on fuel, not the slowest cars on the road despite not at all being fast but mostly you could buy another one next day for couple hundred - nothing wrong with it unlike a vag 2.0 or bmw 2.0/3.0

I had bird lime damage to the bonnet of my new Toyota. The bird crap had only been on there over night at worst. I complained to the Toyota dealership and said that it wasn't fit for purpose if it could do that much damage overnight. It honestly looked as though it had lifted the paint. Their detailer said that they use a heat gun to lift it off. That seemed counter intuitive to me, but fair do's, the got rid of it!

Toyota you get a years warranty if serviced at a main dealer. Up to 10yrs old.

That's right so long as the car is serviced at a Toyota dealer they offer the 12 months warranty upto a maximum of 10 years so the Rav 4 will only have a warranty since the car was last serviced at a dealer, which could be months.

335/435/535d’s are my favourite cars without a doubt. Even counting M cars of which I’ve owned a lot of. Downpipe, “race” exhaust, intercooler, egr delete, SF delete, software and you’re over 400bhp with 70mpg on a run, and service costs minimal. Tax these days is annoying but I have a sneaky way around that now too thanks to my partner.
