Out of curiosit, what are your thoughts on the cause for this disease in tanks that don't run carbon in their filtration?

Well, i dont think the disease is causing because of the activated carbon present in the filter.

U could be on to something there as I use run carbon and my peacock bass use always get it and my water was always on point and I don’t run carbon no more and I have not had it for ages in any of my fish for well over 2years

My severum has hole in the head but I've never used carbon in my tank. He's in a tank with my Oscar but the Oscar is fine.

Ok get on with some big water changes and make sure your fish food has garlic in it 👍🏻👍🏻

The carbon absorbs the medication no? Nothing to do with the disease itself I think.

What do you mean by carbon ? Do AC 110 HOB filters have it ? I never had any big issues until I upgrade my tank for my now larger Oscars and switched to a different HOB filter, but even my blood parrot died, no ich or black spot diseases at all either I could see.

If my carbon is old in my Fluval filter, do I still need to remove it?

PLEASE HELP: 😭😞 I recently adopted a young 4-6 month old Tiger Oscar that has severe HITH disease. I took the Oscar out of a 55g and currently have it in a 10g quarantine tank. As of right now I started him/her on these medications: aquarium salt, stress coat, metroplex, Konaplex, and Focus. I’m mixing the medication with Pellets and blood worms, medicating every 2 days, and thinking of doing 50% w/c everyday for the next 3 to 4 weeks until I see improvements. Is there anything else I should do or do differently?

Try chemi pure blue instead of pure carbon
