Nah, you don't want to get your shiny repair tool dirty.

Good video teaching the right way to fix a ball mark. I see so many people just jab their tool in the pitch mark and just rip the grass from it’s roots.

This is the best explanation I've ever heard for repairing pitch marks on the green. Thank you very much!

Biggest thing is if you repair it correctly u will have smooth greens. Problem we see alot , is no one repairing ball marks at all. Or incorrect repair. Very good video Josh

the last golf course i was at the last hole greens were destroyed by divots. there had to be at least 50+ divot marks. it had just rained the day before so people just blasted holes to the dirt layer.

I like the technique, but I have to disagree about using a tee over a proper tool. Most tools have two blades and they are thinner than a tee in most cases and spaced so it supports the grass when moving it toward the center of the mark. Where as a tee tends to make more of a grove and does not move the grass as "gently". I think a tee for someone who has more experience might be fine but for the average golfer encouraging them to use a tool, along with proper technique, is a much better option IMO.

Did I hear you say League City? As in League City, Texas? That’s literally where I live at😂 What course is this if so? I’m pretty garbo so I play at Beacon Lakes but this looks like a nice little course

The way you described still rips the roots - the correct way is to punch a hole directly in the middle of the ball mark, wiggle the tee around (this pushes the roots out so they don’t rip) then tap edges of the ball mark inward with putter. Then you can still clean up any edges with a tee.

Played a course today and the greens were way too soft. I was bombing the greens and some balls got buried 1/2 way + . It felt impossible to fix the divots as deep as they were.

Today I was 175 yards out hit my pitching wedge and landed literally on the edge of the hole literally almost holed out for eagle. How do you repair a divot if it’s literally touching the hole……………… that was my problem today
