When the winters about to end, hindus celebrate a festival to welcome the spring. this festival has so many significances that cannot be explained all at once. All i know is that hindu festivals have more meaning & science involved than any other civilisations. after all no one messes wid a 10,000 year old epic religion of those beautiful peace loving people !

I still remember when I threw colour water from above it was my first time playing holi, filled bucket mixed colour used pichkari saw a man in bicycle coming, used pichkari from above. My first aim from above his back was pink. Shit he looked at me smiled i screamed happy holi in my voice(was in kindergarden) he smiled and went. Then i filled waterballon saw few muslims coming was about to throw my mom warned, they were also not on us not on us. PS all muslims are not like that. But i miss those days. Now in canada missing home

Hey buddy Howard Starr these are not actually paint colors but , in simple words we Indians call it gulaal... The herbal gulaal is being used these days which does not have any side effects..

Colours are biologically safe and often herbal. Their soothing smell and herbal gulaal's great antiseptic and refreshing properties on skin are beneficial.

Gulasl can be removed in just 2 showers while colour takes more rigorous scrubbing but in the end get removed.Enjoy one of the best festival of the world.
