With the Holiday's looming, I figured it was time to jump into Crafty Mode to make some handmade pieces for friends and family. As luck would have it, the fine folds at JDiction reached out and asked if I could try out their popular ResinCrete mix, and it really saved my bacon.
The kit comes with a few generic mold options that are "cute", but I prefer something a bit more on-brand for me, so I went with a mold of a salmon smolt that I created. The result is a perfect 1:1 cast of the original ready for paint.
After learning more about the ResinCrete product, and after a whole bunch of pours, I feel it's a darn good thing. First and foremost s because it's eco-friendly and food safe. I have little minions running around who tend to chew on just about everything, so knowing that it's relatively digestible is a nice plus.
I've used several traditional resins before for basic casting of lures and other small carvings, but this is very different. It's very hard and cool to the touch once it's cured, it carves very well with a Dremel, and drills very cleanly. Plus, it sands very well and is actually very affordable.
Here's a link to the product page on Amazon if you're about to start production mode for the Holiday's:

Please note: JDiction simply provided the single product kit alone in request for a testimonial of the product. I wasn't paid for creating this video.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
