Fresh trees smell great! Our first tree was real, smelled great, and shed horribly. We tried artificial trees the years we were going on vacation after Christmas and came home to find no tree needles on the floor! I do love the smell of a real tree, so we get a fresh wreath and some fresh branches for a vase which we enjoy, yet we use an artificial tree.

My husband and I have had a tradition since we got married of cutting a tree from the woods. Its always a little funky, but so unique and we made most if our own ornaments from wood slices, beads etc. Makes the tradition very special and ALOT cheaper!

I love real Christmas trees but had to stop buying them years ago. My children got sick shortly after putting up a real tree. It never occurred to me it could be allergies from the tree. Pediatrician said get rid of the tree, put up an artificial and see if the kids illnesses clear up. They were never sick at Christmas time again. I still miss the real trees.

I have always gone to something called “Christmas in _____” and it’s the name of my town. A few neighboring towns do that same thing and it’s typically the first Saturday of December, there is a Christmas parade, horse drawn carriages, “breakfast with Santa” etc and THAT is a daytime Christmas activity for kids!

I’m glad you have a real tree. The whole experience with kids going for a tree is memories you’ll have for a lifetime. This is the first year in my life that we are not having a real tree. I live in PA as well, and it is so hard to find real trees and if you do, the prices are outrageous. The artificial one we got on Black Friday is nice, but just is not the same.

Great video! Loved everything. I have a tray as you got but a different maker and it was gifted to my parents on their twenty fifth Anniversary. That would have been in 1968. They are both gone now and I have it as the other girls didn't care to polish silver. I love it polished but it does keep a certain a mount of patina in the itricate decor of the sides and handles. I absolutely love the one you got. It has tons of character and it changed up the whole feeling of the table and arrangement. Good Score!!! Excellent. The kids are looking so sweet and their jackets are just adorable. You have done a lovely job on decor, I love the bows on things and your tree is perfection. Your cousin is going to love that bowl. I never knew they had extra bowls for the Kitchen Aid. I will check it out as all my girls have them as well. I do also! My oldest daughter inherited my mothers when she passed and so that is forever a treasure. You are looking super great and so that tells me you are in your element of loving this season. We are a kosher Jewish family of two and celebrate Chanukkah that starts on the night of the 25th of December this year. but I love all of your videos and especially your cooking and homemaking videos. My husband bought me a silver platter very similar to yours, many years ago, and he paid a lot more than $8 for it! I clean it with silver polish and it looks amazing. You might like to polish yours sometime when you aren’t so busy. It will also be pretty on the coffee table in your living room!

I have used blueland dishwasher tabs for some time and love them! They are plastic free which is a plus to me, because I read that the plastic on the outside of dishwasher pods can stick to and clog up your dishwasher 😮 I would assume the same thing is true of the clothes washing pods.
