Holiday Prep: Trimming the Tree

I adore your woodland themed tree. It really does give the room a very warm, homey feel. I finally decorated my tree last night and will tweak it a little more tonight, but otherwise it is done. I love when you say that you had your tree or other things for several years. They look like new. Love your common sense and the way you take good care of your possessions. It really take a lot of time and patience testing those bulb one by one Jen.I know it"s important to check on the lights to prevent unnecessary accidents and we don"t want fire to ruin our celebration and preparation...:)

i am so getting those 2 gadgets for the uglyone's stocking ..he will love them (you know how men are with gadgets) i have snowflakes that i use to fill the bare spots ....this year we changed up the tree trimming a bit ( i let control go lol) I let my daughter take charge ...and we added the uglyone's train to the tree this year ( Santa brought him one last year to go on to the tree)

I love your advent calendar! Opening a calendar is so exciting - even when you have set it up yourself :) Btw, I always start with the biggest ornaments too and fill it up with smaller ones. In Finland quite a lot of people put golden or silver ribbon (or strings? don't know the word) onto the tree to finish.

Do you keep your holiday decorations up for awhile after Christmas, or are you one of those people who takes it all down the day after Christmas? I think that'd be so depressing - at my house we like to keep the cheer going until New Years. One year our tree was actually a Valentine's Day tree because we were all so busy (*blushes*), but the ornaments were pink so I guess it worked out...?

Its hilarious that people are asking why you trim an artificial tree. "Trimming" a tree is DECORATING it.......not cutting it in anyway. lol.....or at least that's what we call it in the states.
