Thank you so much for uploading this. We holidayed here in 1993 and it really was the holiday from hell. I was talking to my parents about it and I said that it had featured on this programme and I would try and find out when. I had no idea I’d find the episode here on KZbin. So I am very very grateful to you for uploading this. Whilst holidaying here, we saw frogs in the pool, algae and poo in the pool. There was a wild horse running wild in the tennis courts (that had no nets). Ants and cockroaches in the room and double doors that led out to a forest of nettles. Never again.

See pees from between her legs not from the rear end. So as she can not pee backwards how could she get her rear mid section over the pool side with out falling in? Lol. Sorry but I couldn't help laughing trying to see how such would be possible.

I feel for the folks who were routed to Havana. But I would actually enjoy seeing "real" Cuba before it gets prettied up for tourism.
@sparx1808 жыл бұрын
+Brenda R I have been to Cuba many times starting in the 80's. I have travelled the Carribean extensively, but Cuba is my love. The one place I truly loved was Club Bucanero, sadly it was destroyed by a hurricane. Will go again in November but I am so worried the US will muck it up with their Burger King's and all sorts of other fast food places. I gave my view on Cuba before I saw what happened to the tourists. I have never seen any part of Havana looking like that honestly. I would be pissed as well. When you pay for an all inclusive trip and you think it is a 5 star it is usually a 3. All inclusive includes air fare, room and board and all you can drink. Those that drink do just that drink from sun up to sundown. Ask around before you go on ANY all inclusive. Cockroaches - I saw 2 while I was in Cuba. Cockroaches are the norm in Key Largo, Florida, Bermuda, Bahamas, they do not discriminate they will set up house in any warm country. As for being prettied up, that video is not at all representative of the whole of Cuba. You will find a few hotels that are 250US a night that cater to deep sea divers from all over the world. Too bad they only showed a down side one.
@brucemarsico65 жыл бұрын
You don't want Cuba to be mucked up by US fast food joints butyou say you've travelled throughout the West Indies. So, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Barbados, Jamaica, andmost of the other islands are terribly 'mucked?'I don't follow your myopic view. What wrong with fast food joints?I don't patronize them but so many people do. I am sure many many Cuban people would like to have a variety offood choices. Don't you?Oh I forgot, recently I was in Oranjestad and I did eat at a McDonalds.The culture and loveliness of the city hadn't dimmed and the Arubansseemed to be just as Aruban before and after I ate there.Not bad food. What's funny is my holiday from hell was in London. My father dragged me there in late December and I was fully aware of how brutal British winters can be. I F-F-FROZE so badly that I wanted to die. I took a lot of pictures but thanks to the constantly gloomy British weather, my holiday pics looked just as gloomy too! Oh, well, the locals were friendly and at least I got to see some historical sites such as the Tower of London and saw the changing of the guard at the palace. My holiday was cut short when I caught the flu so it was back home, stuck in bed for a week! I think if the hotel manager had been a real life Basil Fawlty that would have been the final straw and I would have thrown myself from the nearest bridge, praying the Thames would make my death quick...

There are some random KZbin videos about the sun vista as well. As a last chance, you could find the network information/production company for the show and contact them. Maybe by explaining your situation it may have them open their hearts to help you. Sorry I couldn't be more help, hopefully you find what you are looking for. Best of Luck.

That was back in the 90's and definitely not in every hotel. Today is much better. There are many new hotels with proper conditions, and the old ones are either renovated or demolished, because no one wants to go there.

Andrew Sachs narrated this ( Manuel from Fawlty Towers) in other words. It's fair enough really considering that Fawlty Towers was really a holiday/hotel from hell as well!

There is no beach along the coastline of Havana, so you're not going to sun on the sand there regardless of the condition of your hotel. But there are luxury hotels. Obviously the Neptuno in 1999 was not one of them, however.
