I’m in Spokane Washington now so I do atleast have the snow ❄️🎄🎅 But the historic & intimate ways in which the Hudson Valley is celebrating, truly is awe inspiring & so much like Stars Hollow ✨ We just lost my Mother in law at age 64 unexpectedly from Covid on November 19th 😔 It has definitely made me think about tradition & making the most of every moment & holiday🥰🎄

Time seemed to stand-still when I was there... you could just feel the era of Victorian finery, the era of revolution, the drowsy, quiet spells that Irving spoke of in his writings that something there in the hollow was special in ways we could feel but not quite see or put a finger on... If you walk the aqueduct on a quiet day, away from modern times and society, you'll find it's still present...

I remember hearing on the Sunnyside tour that Ebenezer Scrooge might have been inspired by Washington Irving's brother Ebenezer who had a similar personality lol.

No matter what season sleepy hollow is a very charming town, I was there at Halloween and the first thing I do is go to the candle shops buy tons, send them home ahead of me, horsefeathers is my favorite place to sit and relax and for a while forget my troubles, and just enjoy a good meal, and shop my socks off. The town is just the remedy for the blues, I was there at Halloween and went to the great pumpkin 🎃 blaze, and for a while was a kid, everything about this beautiful town is so right and offers so much to the people. Your channel does the town right and brings dignity to an already dignified location. Halloween or not this is a happening that everyone should experience if they can. I work hard all spring and summer to come in the fall. You are a beautiful 💑 couple. I make my reservations via trip advisor no muss no fuss, book and then think what lies ahead

My family and I celebrate St Nicholas day, my husband and I have our kids leave out their shoes and we fill their shoes with small gifts. They wake up in the morning thinking St Nicholas dropped by for a visit.

Funny to see Sinterklaas somewhere else besides our little country. Sinterklaas arrives at the first saturday of november on his steamship. The children put on several evenings there shoe in front of the door or fireplace and sing "Sinterklaas" songs. They get Chocolate and pepernoten (peppernuts?) or a present in there shoe. On the 5th of december its present evening where they get presents or the adults make surprises with a poam for each other. Greetings from a little town in Groningen, the Nethetlands. This was delightful!!! Thank you for this; I loved the history infused with the beautiful sights & sounds! You make me want to visit there. It also reminds me of my own sweet town of Woodstock, IL--Groundhog Day movie was filmed here. All the lights in this season against the backdrop of our historically perserved buildings, festive horse drawn carriage rides clomping on the brick streets--makes me want to take some extra time going into our own quaint shops. @@itsacharminglife Oh my! That would be so cool! There are nice Bed & Breakfasts' close to the square. The lighting of the square always happens the Friday after Thanksgiving at 7pm with the mayor & everyone singing a carol or two. The Woodstock Opera House is so neat & historically restored--need to see whatever Xmas play they are showing at the time. Eat in the old Courhouse; Public House of Woodstock--they used to have the jail cells available for dining which was so cool, but not anymore. Classic Cinemas, look at the 1st theatre where the ceiling has been restore & the turn of the century light bulbs hanging--the hallways have the old advertisements of when it first opened with pictures and everything.
