Ive been at this for years and ive realized that all you are saying in the videos ive seen from you ARE EXACTLY TRUE. Leave-ins (used many different brands) just dont work with ANY gel that I use. I remember back in the day, i only put on gel after my wash and that was it! Ive always had very dry and dyed hair, and i guess you would call a 3a,b. I also remember using a leave in once with the same gel and the gel would NOT hold. I remembered all this with your videos. I guess ill still trial and error but YOUR WAY. Thank God I found you. You are so sincere and there's nobody out there like you. Congrats on being you!!!! P S. Headband...gorgeous!

Thank you so much Delilah! I feel that I am starting the CGM over again...I was introduced to the concept several years ago, but only with snippets from a new curly hair salon. They gave me many suggestions for how to care for my curly hair, but not based on my specific hair type. I have very similar to yours-fine, 2b-3a. I’m still a bit unsure about density though. In other readings I’ve done density is different than thickness. I have a lot of hair, so I’d say I have thick hair. But, with the wrong products, my hair lacks volume which makes my scalp more visible.

I had heard of tee-owels awhile back but couldn't find anyone who recommended them. Gonna go place an order in a few minutes! I was wondering about hair accessories you used and recommend? Such as your scarf or a headband?

I don't use many accessories but I do like the Invisibobble for when I need to put it up and these headbands and scarf ties from Bizzy B Crafts.

Thank you! I have been trying CGM for a couple of months, and your hair type is definitely very close to mine. Question, what do you do when you work out almost everyday, and are a sweater. Also, I am a night sweater due to age and hormonal issues. So my hair seems like it needs to be washed more. I know that it may change over time with implementing the CGM, but wasn't sure if washing/cleansing hair every few days will totally negate the whole process. I used to just scrub my hair with water almost everyday in between washes (about every 7-10 days). Just hate to be putting too much product in my hair multiple times a week. I am a less is more girl. Thanks again for the great video! This is definitely very much a learning process right now. Have a great day, stay healthy and safe!

You can wash it as often as you need as long as you're using the right products. So if you sweat a lot you might need to refresh more often. But you don't need to add more products. I'd grab a refreshing spray like the one from Cantu to use in these cases. Some powder dry shampoo might help as well. You could also alternate shampoo and cowash if you don't want to dry out your hair.

Can u use your regular conditioner as a co-wash? Because co wash is washing with a cleansing conditioner right? Or what is the specific difference between a co wash and a conditioner? Kinda lost here 😅 thx!
@HolisticEnchilada
@HolisticEnchilada 4 жыл бұрын
Some people do that but I would not. Get an actual cleansing conditioner (cowash). It has a very mild surfactant in it that doesn't suds up but cleans more than regular conditioner.

Hi Delilah, I was wondering what kind of haircut would you advice with your hair. Hairdressers aleays say that layers give volume, but it gives ' holes' if you understand what I mean? Would a rëzocut be suitable? I want long hair but still some volume, but don't know yet if I want a specific haircut for that. I am dissapoited by earlier visits at the hairdresser....I hope you have some tips. You don't have layers..
@HolisticEnchilada
@HolisticEnchilada 4 жыл бұрын
I don't know much about the different types of curly cuts. I just went to a curl specialist and told her what I wanted. She did mention the thing about not doing "layers" but I have the curly equivalent of them and it's really helped. Find someone and take lots of picture of real people with the type of style you're going for. I just saved a bunch of Instagram pics and showed my stylist, and told her I wanted more volume.

@@HolisticEnchilada hi Delilah, thanks! Is there a name for the curly equivalent of layers? Did they cut it dry curl by curl or something else? Thanks a lot!
@alcoholly18
@alcoholly18 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Delilah, first thanks so much for all your information. I've only been doing CGM a couple of weeks and have had amazing results that I would never have managed on my own. Your hair type is exactly like mine and I never knew how to deal with it - so much so that I chemically straightened (cringe!) until two years ago, though it's finally grown out. Anyway, to my question. You suggest Giovanni 50/50 as a good starter for everybody here but in your blog post on products for fine, high porosity hair you dont mention it. I cant get evolvh or raw curls in the UK right now and they're currently out of my price range too. I got the Giovanni tea tree in travel size to test it out but I understand it's probably not great for frequent washing. Do you have any other suggestions? Should I go with the 50/50 for my fine, high porosity hair as well?
@HolisticEnchilada
@HolisticEnchilada 4 жыл бұрын
Hi! So the 50:50 line would toally work for your hair, as well as the Tea Tree one you have. That one is not as moisturizing as other lines so many people say it's too drying for them to use often but I use it all the time without any issues. Either way you should be good.

I've used the co-wash you suggest on your site, it was WAY TOO heavy for my hair. I followed the directions to get it used to it and used it for quite some time. It actually was so bad it was starting to fall out from whatever the ingredients that made it so heavy. I wish it worked for me as well as I read it did for others but I had to stop using it, it was just too much for my head to stand.

Can you dye your hair and still use the curly girl method as far as how to clean your hair and have less damage than you’d have if you dyed AND used harmful cleansing methods. Or will the entire thing just not work if you dye your hair?
