I gave slash the T-shirt he wears in much of this video. It says “hard cock cafe- hell” on it when in Rockford in 88. I got to hang out with him for a while and watched that show from backstage. I was so surprised to see the shirt in this video later. He also wears it in a video in an interview in a home video. I thought that was so cool.

2nd part of the video was shot at Donington Monsters of Rock festival in August 88. More than 100.000 people were. I was in front and it was terrible. 2 kids died while G'n'R were performing and about 200 got injured. Never been toan open air ever since.

They filmed this at the Donnington festival UK where two fans were crushed by the reckless crowd. This deeply affected Axl Rose which is one of the reasons why Axl would stop shows midway & have confrontation when he found any ruckus going on in the crowd in further tours.

Yeah, I've been to stadium-concerts a lot. I even saw GNR live when they played at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992. There were all kind of bands and artists - from Paul Young to Metallica, Black Sabbath, The Who (Roger Daltrey), etc... As I am into music for over 30 years, be sure I seen thousands of concerts - and yes, some where in stadiums (Roling Stones, Pink Floyd, Robbie Wiliams, Queen+, and so on)

I believe they were supporting Aeorsmith in he first part of the video. In the second half they were at Donington 1988 in UK, second on the bill. By the time of the gig they were the biggest rock/metal band in the world and could have headlined. Two people died in the crush.
@ratowey4 жыл бұрын
The concert was shot in two different places. The first part was shot in the Giants stadium in New York, the second part @6:57 was in Donington Park in the Uk at the Monsters Of Rock festival (Now called Download). I was at the Donington part on 28th August 1988. Where you stopped the video @7:12 I was dead centre but level with the lighting and mixing desk that is on the platform on the top lefthand side. It looks like this was the back of the venue but it was in the middle, there are more people behind me than you can see on here. There were 107,000 people in attendance, sadly two lost their lives being crushed in the front. The full festival lineup was Iron Maiden David Lee Roth Megadeth Guns N' Roses Helloween

Then there is the type of guitarist who demonstrates such an uncanny level of skill - such a prodigious amount of talent - that you think that he is not human. Saw them open for Aerosmith in 1988 at Great Woods (will always be Great Woods for me). Saw them at Foxboro Stadium in 92 with Metallica, I think prior to the 2016 reunion show that was their only show in Foxboro...
