It's actually insane how bad the show is with Ashton Kutcher considering how good it is with Charlie. I understand that a major cast change has its effects, but it was as if they got rid of their pro writing team and hired a bunch of first year college students to write shows for Kutcher.

@@jayvardy Mostly because the show worked because of the family aspect. With Kutcher it was completely gone. Alan was quite literally just a mooch and it felt like every episode consisted in Walden reminding Alan that he needs to get out of the house. It became so incredibly boring to watch.

Charlie had a manic bipolar episode. Drinking and drugs are a symptom. The way to get straight is to get help and be with other strong supporters. Sober or drunk doesnt matter when your BIPOLAR.

Jon Cryer said in an interview that Charlie Sheen was a perfect coworker... for the first 7 seasons, just like Holland said. But in the 8th season he started comming up slightly drunk and/or on drugs, and you can tell that there is something off in the way he looks and moves. Charlie Sheen is one of those extremely talented actors who just derrails from time to time.

It's been so many years since his freakout and he was putting out fires for years afterwards. Maybe if he was more upfront about his drug problems it would have been easier for him (not that it's anyone's business) Still, I've always admired him as a performer. In my opinion, he's still one of the best actors out there.
