I visited Volendam in 1989.Place much beautiful then.Houses are different now more shops & eatery. There were then few places selling grilled eel .It was a small fishing village.I have seen Dutch woman clad in their typical dress & clogs in the evening outside the house gazing at the sea, waiting for their husband to return from fishing.It was picaresque difficult to forget.I can vividly remember after so many years.

I was in Volendam two months ago. It was a particular experience, the houses are very close togheter and they have a beateful color. I suggest to visiti this city in the morning, specially if you like a quite place. You cand find a wild landscape. But before to visit Volendeam you HAVE visit Zaanse Schans. You are going to stay in a fairy city.
