When I was with Jenkins in '71 his tried and true setup was two 660's with the last lower inch of the main body opened up for 850 baseplates . Holley , Weiand , Bauman , Mopar and one or two Hemi teams had sorted the Dominators about a year and a half earlier , and they won 90 plus percent of the major Pro Stock races in '71 . So of course Holley wanted Dominators on the top Chevy , which was a 430 inch big block , and we worked very hard to comply . When we finally got the manifold and big carbs sorted , we stayed right where we were with the 660's , and didn't close the gap on the Hemis which was about a tenth of a second . Soooo, we built a small block Vega ,,, ! ,,, Btw , of course the little carbs had a much bigger plenum ,,, ! ,, ,,, I rated the 660's at a nominal 700 CFM ,,, and we initially used the 1050 CFM Dominators , but had the 1150's , and maybe used them first . It's only been 53 years .

I think the annular boosters in the Dominators will atomize more finely than the downleg boosters in the 4150, given the same signal. Because of that, response might be crisp with the Dominator. However, the finely atomized mixture will take more room, physically, in the intake tract. And that will result in slightly lower VE at wide open throttle for the Dominators compared to the 4150s. That could give the edge to the 4150s at the track and on the dyno, despite the Dominators having better drivability. Just a crazy thought, I could be totally wrong.

Agree 100%. 02 sensors are the only way to really tune a carb. You can get close with the seat of the pants evaluations, but the sensors really let you know where you should lean out or richen up the individual the circuits. I'm interested to see the results. My guess, they will be within about 10hp. But the dominator will get the edge.

I think the Dominator will have better cylinder to cylinder distribution, so a little more power, but the 4150 will have a better signal to the boosters, so maybe a better transition when the throttle opens and launch/drivability gain. The 4150 750 has a very good Venturi design, which is hard to beat and I can’t see a restrictor in the booster being better.
