Pretty typical vacuum secondary Holley rebuild. Newer Holley carbs come with power valve blow out protection. This is a old carb.

A very light film of petroleum jelly on the gaskets will prevent gaskets from sticking. An old timer back in the 90's told me and that suggestion has served me well!!

Don't sell your self short on your skill set! One of the most thorough videos I've ever seen. The info on the Adjust- a- jet was a big help on figuring out which metering block, Percy's or Willy's was better. Willy's is a billet aluminum with a screw in each corner similar to an idle enrichment screw. I think it gives you a 10 jet size adjustment for each venturi. Willy's looks to be the higher quality block, but, limited in adjust-ability vs the Percy's block. I would think 10 jet sizes would probably be enough?. My 2 cents. Thank you Oldsmob455 for taking the time to make such a quality video! My hat's off to you man!

10 sizes is a pretty big window if you have a rough starting point. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for this 👍Getting into my first Holley now. Last three Q-jets I had all rotted the bleed tubes, think it is something in the gas these days.

Thankyou I have the same carbs but in the "S" version for superchargers. I will be getting the accessory bowls chromed with the large glass windows for both ends.

I've never seen all 6 bolts in the base plate used. The center 2 aren't covered by the gasket to intake. If they come loose, they'll fall down the intake.

You have some good tips that are a nice touch. No check ball in the Vacuum canister? Summit Racing has a adjustable fuel line with built in fuel filter since the Percy block was added.

Maybe it's time for a rebuild. I've already replaced the mech. fuel pump and I'm going to install an electric fuel pump maybe as a backup or assist.

I've been having problems with my 350 Holley for over a month now on my '77 Land cruiser. When I shut it down and then start back up and climb a hill it acts like it runs out of gas. I removed the gas line to the carb and turned it over to see if gas is flowing and hook it back up and get home. Happen three times already.

You have the wrong type of float in your secondary for running jet extensions.

Ray S I love rebuilding these. Kit costs less than $50 and like a $50-$100 labor charge.
