If anyone can make something weird run on a holly ECU Kevin can. I knew this man knew exactly what he was doing from the first cleetus video he was in where he was tuning toast with the efi blueprint big block in before it went to Australia. He had it running so much better in what seemed like minutes. As Mike Finnegan says Kevin gets up in the morning and pisses excellence 😅

That engine is absolutely not running correctly. A bone stock carbureted 308 makes 190-200bhp at the wheels. Long term Ferrari mechanic here. These guys spent more time tuning and installing this injection system than they ever would messing with Webers, which are incredibly simple devices and easy to learn. I’ve installed these throttle bodies before and they make some 10-20bhp more at the wheels, not really worth it.

@@Selmerpilot you obviously didn't listen it has a brake caliper dragging which will definitely loose them power and fuel injection is always worth it because the carbs will be out of tune by the end of the street while the fuel injection is fit and forget 🙄

Australian ECUs like Haltech, Motec and Autronic have a great TPS vs MAP setting that deals perfectly with ITBS even including ITBs with Turbos like GTR Skylines etc.

Oh yes. Have you seen what Moto Technique does with those Ferrari V8's in the UK? They make 450+ hp on these 308/328 engines when punched out to 3.8 litres. Love the Motec systems.

K-Swap it like StanceWorks did with a sequential and a big turbo ! Magnum KSR for the WIN ! It was a naturally aspirated V8 with 90 degree configuration, belt driven twin overhead camshafts per bank and 2.9 liters in capacity. The engine was transversely mounted in unit with the all synchromesh five speed transmission. Power was about 255 horsepower. when new off the showroom floor

Also watch the old CVs. Had one bound up, but not overheating or torn on a 70's Benz and the difference after the swap was incredible.

@@otm646 For sure. I have a 328 GTS in nice condition and those things need to be on point on these. They do suffer from CV issues if they sit, and considering that caliper is seized, that car has definitely been sitting. There could also be valve gasket leaks as the 308 is notorious for this. It should definitely make more power. These engines were at the time known for being pretty stout compared to factory ratings. My 328 makes 231 at the wheels SAE with a coolant temp of 185F. How do you like your Merc? Seriously considering getting a '70 or '71 280SL Pagoda.

I bet those petal cutouts on the velocity stacks for those ITB's are creating a ton of turbulence, same with how each is paired together at a very sharp edge. Fixing that design alone is probably a good 20whp.

I tuned one of those with an electromotive tech 1 20 years ago. From what I remember, it liked to be lean. I think it kept making power into the high 13's. Might have made around 220whp

I love weber’s, but that is still very Nice work! I would have drilled and tapped for SMC push-fittings, for vacuum signal and run MAP from them. You Can even get manifolds and on-Way valves and all kind of stuff. You can even split and inspect vacuum on one cylinder At the time. But very nice work!

Not always. Many have tried such things in other applications, and reality is that those filters can be insanely restrictive.

Woah!!! This is super interesting! I have so many little issues with my 250 GTE. Carbs always a bit iffy, and as late as last week, the aux fuel pump died. I have been thinking about modern fuel injection on it. Reality is that it should be possible to do so that it is reversible if I could get some 2 barrel TBI throttle bodies that would bolt in where my Weber 36 DCS carbs sit.

This thing needs pipes! That quiet exhaust is also strangling airflow big-time. Better flowing pipes would easily let you tune it over 200hp. Sweet ride though, and LOVE the Holley sticker on a Ferrari, it's just wrong.

Long term Ferrari mechanic here. These throttle bodies have been installed on 308s many times, the process is no secret but there is something wrong with your engine. I don’t know who built or set cam timing on that engine but it remains very underpowered even post your tune as even a dead stock carbureted 308 with proper jetting makes between 190-200bhp at the wheels on a Dynojet. The throttle bodies in question can usually coerce another 15bhp or so at the wheels, so seeing 210-220 at the wheels is minimum acceptable range. 3.5L versions of this engine have been made using Ferrari 360 crankshafts and these throttle bodies and they made well into 100bhp/L. Note these engines like lots of timing, and early. I dial in 34 degrees by around 3000rpm, then max around 4000-4500 with 38-39 degrees.

Hia guys, new sub, loving the content, I ran Jenvey itbs for years, on a V6 Boa went from 195-277hp stock on aft mrkt ecu, anyway..... I got some tips for ya 😊 i found if you can remount your air box higher so the air from the top has more direct flow, it would help if you modify the removable top, needs at least 6inch of room above the top of the trumpets, then a panel filter to the lovely fresh air outside, away from the rain as much as possible, so I had mine just in front of the Wipers on a Sierra, then inside make a water trap/drain just incase and make it so you can fit 1 long panel filter into it, then when it's sealed up the trumpets can breeeeeeaathh, (one last thing for the driver) get yourself a air flow meter and check they balanced all the same, you got to do that every 2-3 weeks I found, simple adjustments and when u get them all sucking the same 😂 as you tune that last one it will flatline and you'll dribble 😂 then go back for a tune and it will be a different car, but then make a note of the gauge on the meter what their all saying, and keep maintaining that forever, it's overlooked easily and if their not all the same then it will never be at full chat... Anyway, love the car and setup, happy tinkering and good luck, that smile will only get bigger and the sound they make when their balanced is amazing. Get yourself a nice thin screwdriver just for them the meter and youll be really happy with them 👍💪👍😉
