Oh my god, someone who totally understands me, haha. I get in such a funk when I see people already in their career, or see friends going off on adventures/exploring the world and thriving while I sit at home just studying and not being able to do much since school is a huge priority and demand. I always get told by friends and family, "just go out, you can study tomorrow," and im just like, "I can't, im a nursing student, you don't understand!" hahah!

You are so young and it is so awesome that you have worked so hard to get to where you are at your age. I'm old (32, haha) and have 3 kids, and I'll be starting nursing school in August. I'm terrified to start because I know how much work is involved, but I have other responsibilities other than just school, so I'm going to be pulled in a million different directions! I just wanted to leave you a note to say that you're doing awesome and that eventually all the studying will be done and you'll be working as a RN! :)

I'm a mom and I'm getting ready to start nursing school this fall. I've been a stay at home mom for the last two years but I decided to get a job to not put the burden of paying for my school all on my husband. So I'm currently working at an assistant living and I'm worried about not having time to study when school starts. I guess it all comes down to prioritizing and time management. Does anybody else work while attending nursing school? Holley I've been following you for the last couple months and your videos have been so much help to me! Your always the first story I watch on snap chat and I get so excited when I see you upload something new! Lol (Stalker Status) Your just very helpful and so fun to watch. Good luck in all you do! 💕

I just graduated college last Thursday with my Associates in Medical Assisting. I know it's not exactly like nursing school but I totally feel you on being stressed, tired, studying 24/7, and not working. My husband is in the USAF and I was blessed to have him say "Finish school, don't work." However, I've worked my whole life. So this past year of not working has been very hard. It's not fun having to depend on someone (even though it's your own husband lol) and feeling like you're not independent. Now I'm studying for my certification exam in June/July (can't make my mind up... too scared lol) and I still don't have a job. So studying and being the "typical military housewife" is my job right now. I know it's all going to be worth it in the end! I'm glad I found your channel bc you're so real and down to earth and even though I just graduated I really want my BS. Your channel has helped me decide if after a few years of working if I really want to go into nursing! Keep up the good work! Don't let fear of failing and not being good enough give you anxiety. I did that the whole time I was in school. Now I'm using it as fuel to light a fire under my ass and pass this certification exam and be the most bomb ass CMA the world has ever seen! You got this girl!

I'm finishing up my nursing school pre-reqs, while working FT at an SNF, and figuring out single motherhood. My struggle isn't so much the academics of it... It's more the relentless grind of it all. It's hard for me to relate to some of my childless, PT- employed friends who either never went to college or earned their degrees already (and sometimes it is hard for them to relate to my lifestyle, too). I'm working toward my BSN, and, eventually, my NP. It'll be worth it, and like you said, l'm SO grateful for the opportunity, but sometimes it'd be nice to not feel like l'm always grinding away at some checkpoint on my endless to-do list! We'll get there. Good luck with your studies. :)

Can you do meal prepping for nursing school? 😊
@HolleyGabrielle7 жыл бұрын
I can try, yes:) haha I have a weekly routine!
@LivingMyBestLynnzy7 жыл бұрын
My "meal prep" is making a batch of sausage balls (1pt sausage, 1pt cheese, 1pt Bisquick: mix and make 1Tbs balls on a sprayed cookie sheet for 15 minutes at 350 or when done through the ball) refrigerate and I will microwave a few and eat while I drive to school. My parents have a cattle ranch, so the sausage I use is 90/10 and doesn't seem to be nearly as greasy, nor take as long to cook, you can use sharp cheddar and cut back to 1/2part instead if you're worried about the calories too though when you do that I suggest adding an egg so it still binds well. The breakfast essentials are amazing, along with if you make a big batch of smoothies then freeze in mason jars (leave 2in empty on top and freeze without a lid, add after) the night before put one jar in the fridge and in the morning it should be the perfect consistency to stir and enjoy. Make a big batch of noodles and just add sauce. I am sure Holley has some much better tips because I am in the same pickle Taylor, haha.

Hi so I'm currently a sophomore in highschool and I've been thinking about becoming a nurse simply because of the fact that ever since I was little I've just always loved helping people. It makes me feel happy and accomplished and it's something I'm willing to work for if I could make it an everyday job. I've been looking at your videos and of others of how nursing school is but I just wanted to know what do you recommend me (as a sophomore) do to get ready early on the path to become a nurse? Also what do I have to do to get into nursing school? Any tests, exams, programs? Basically anything that could help me get on the right path. Thanks so much and I'm really looking forward to hearing back from you if you have time.

GIRL! You're absolutely gorgeous. I'm looking into nursing, I still have a year or so to decide so I have some time. Your videos are giving me a lot of insight. It looks very difficult but I think that with passion, the difficulty level is worth it. I've always had a passion for both nursing and children and I think that being a pediatric nurse would be absolutely amazing and something I think I'd love to do. I was wondering, what are you doing for your job right now? Is it hard to have with a lot of school work coming at you?

Time management fail, I am studying for Pharm right now and noticed you posted a video. Maybe it is a sign that I need to study again haha. I do not know how you manage to have a youtube channel along with school, I barely have time to walk my dog let alone manage to finish all of my readings. If I can get through my Voice over PP, and ATI then I am good, Pearson book after if then have time. I want to learn how to meal prep because it is such a seemingly waste of time to cook every evening, but I do not want to have junk or unhealthy frozen foods.

You tube viewers that are law student, nursing students, psychology students, and journalism students I appeal to you. We cannot garner major media to address the below as advertising incentives are shutting down the truth of this practice noted below. This practice is entrenched in decades of practice and acceptance. Billions involved in US alone annually in cover ups that are criminal with thought given. Law students there was an award winning paper written by law student on this previous by name of Conrad Karen. We need many more papers and conversations. Do not think this issue can not easily impact your life directly as it has become so prevalent in its use. A layman with general understanding knows that 450 volts and greater to the brain is harm. I ask you before you "drink the kool aide" to give thought and put pen to paper, to address this in your papers written for university. Raise your concerns of this practice please as you are the generation to effect the needed changes, so we can find help and alternatives. My gratitude. In your community there are people who have had the procedure called ECT or electroshock. In last decade, use has greatly increased, and is used for many reasons now, and offered readily. Used at leading facilities.from We are showing damages on MRI, EEG,neuro/cognitive testing, VNG,and SPECT. This is a public health issue that needs to come to light. As a result of receiving this untested FDA procedure, patients are now living with traumatic brain injury outcomes at minimum. Electrical trauma impacts all bodily systems so there are other issues in addition to the baseline of TBI. This has now been proven in the California courts in a now national device suit, yet facilities are still doing this. ECT also impacts our children, Veterans, and women in pregnancy. Suits filed against the FDA, and firms interviewing for medical malpractice. My opinion is that providers, who are well aware of these poor outcomes have a duty to warn, protect, and not cause harm. There is an oppressive silence around this, as when it comes to light there will be much to account for. Those standing by silently in complicity and collusion are just as responsible. We need these providers that include nurses, to step in to advocate and intercede for these vulnerable patients. We are told in consent to expect temporary memory loss to resolve in six weeks and typical anesthesia risks. Their own research reports structural brain changes that result from this. They dare to take this upon themselves, and withhold these known damages? They cannot just suddenly stop doing this now without admitting harm. Electrical trauma can extend years out to include ALS and CTE. There is a great betrayal of patient trust. We are betrayed with the initial procedure, and again when we can find little assistance to address our outcomes following.Many would like to see criminal charges levied. Very sadly we can find little help in addressing our outcomes of repeated brain injuries that all other TBI patients have at their disposal. Doctors will not address in referrals and testing, as it will implicate peers and facilities, and risk their standings whatever that may be. My peers sometimes commit suicide as a direct result of damages, and they are isolated. We are greatly suffering and need extensive rehabilitation. Our complaints are written off as psychiatric to protect those responsible. Billion involved annually in US alone from this in cover ups of decades. This is trauma pure and simple, not help. Creating temporary euphoria and memory loss for difficulties that led to admission result from brain injury, and is not mental health. There is a two time increase in suicide following ECT secondary to brain injury and isolation in outcomes. Please let others know what is taking place. Others, which may include someone you care about, are at great risk if they are offered this.. See ectjustice now owned by law firms participating in national product liability suit. Thank you.
