I recently failed a test and took it hard. It took me a few days to realize that it doesn’t define me or mean that I’m going to be a bad nurse. Just a stepping stone on my journey to becoming a nurse. ❤️

Same I had failed a test in my fundamentals class that almost everyone else had passed and I cried and beat myself up over it for longer then I'm proud to say. I did amazing on my final and ended up with one of the highest grades in the class. I know they say life is the best teacher but it's true it really showed me that one grade did not define my whole nursing school journey. To all in nursing school or working towards it stay encouraged and holley we love you for your advice and videos your amazing

Just finished my first semester of nursing school and you’re videos have been my holy grail these last few months! Nursing school is so hard, so much harder than I was prepared for. It’s a whole new world of studying but it’s SO SO SO worth it when you think about what you get to do after graduation. ❤️

This video was seriously on time. I got done with my first semester of nursing school and i got 3 B+ and one A .. i got caught up with how some of my friends and sorority sisters got a 4.0 but i didn’t. I started being so hard on myself and i see that held me back a lot more than helped me. You have truly been such an inspiration and i really thank you for sharing these things with us.

Breathe... you only have you to strive for... Put "you" first .. Like Holly says .. don't be afraid to ask for help .. put down that phone.. 4 yrs will go by so fast.... My wife is starting her 21st yr in nursing... Money is good but get in it with love and compassion or you will hate it... My daughter just finished her first semester of college too! Now on to AP II .. uggh ! Clinical's do not start until 4th semester...
@sabrinadingle86156 жыл бұрын
Alex P that is awesome! I hope your wife continues to do well in the profession. That is truly amazing to hear and A&P 2 was a lot easier for me than A&P 1 .. Easy note cards and KZbin really saved my life. My clinical instructor was amazing so i felt a lot more comfortable. Really excited for my Pediatric and OB rotation ..

Girl yes, the struggle this semester especially for me, was sooo much. We began three weeks late because of hurricane Harvey, I got water in my house and had to move. My grandma whom was a very important part of my life (and who I personally helped care for, bathing, meals, etc.) died 6 Days after Hurricane Harvey hit. This was all in the beginning of this semester. Then 3 weeks before finales my husband of 9 1/2 years moves out... devastating. It’s been coming, but still... just too much you know. I managed to pull off an A and two B’s on some prerequisite courses. Not what I wanted, but I’ve decided it’s good enough and considering everything that’s happened since the end of August I think I did pretty fucking okay. Soooo ready for the Christmas break. Love your videos and snaps, keep rocking it girl!

Every struggle you talked about, all I could say was “ yep, that’s me “. I was wondering if you could do a video on medication dosage calculations and tips on it. My program requires a 100 on the calculations final, if you don’t then you get kicked out the program. Yea, the stress is REAL!

This was great....thank you...I will start my program in January but I can relate to most of what you said as I reflect on my pre requisite courses. I'm very hard on myself....I beat up on myself real bad if I do not do as well as I think I should. I don't even know if it helps me or not because sometimes I feel like that drive to succeed keeps me going but then other times I feel like I find myself in a hole of just being depressed about a grade or what not that I can't even sleep or focus to move forward.....it's truly a struggle.

C. Morgan Free it depends on the hospital you're at. Mine has 8, 10 and 12 hour shifts. If you work full time then you work a rotating shift of 3-4 12 hour shifts a week, or 4 10's or 5 8's. Plus the hours vary a ton. You could work 9-5 or 7-3 or 1pm-9pm, or night shifts. So normal amount of working hours in a week, just varying times.
