HOLLOW FRONT | 'Letting Go' ft. Dakota Alvarez' | REACTION/REVIEW

Hey Rachelle! Always love seeing your reactions and it was amazing meeting you when we came through Denver a few years ago w WCAR. Losing Dakota was definitely a massive loss for us and it would be a lie if I said this didn’t almost end the band completely. But Dakota needed to leave for his own good and we will support him in everything he does. We love him very much and we wish nothing but the best for him. His leaving hurt us pretty bad, but we channeled that into a new record and I really think that emotion, and fear of what comes next, will come across very apparent when you all hear it. We’re still here and we’re not going anywhere. Lots of new stuff coming very soon. Also, on our song writing process: Not a lot of people know this, but Lee has been writing pretty much all of the instrumental music for Hollow Front since Still Life, and he co-wrote a bunch on Homewrecker too. But from Still Life on, he’s been writing everything, minus a few songs Dakota wrote. He’s always been a part of the project, even before Dakota joined and is actually how I met and became friends with Dakota, he just started out as more of a producer, instead of a band member. As far as replacing Dakota, there’s no such thing. He’s irreplaceable. So I will be absorbing the role of singing, along with my screaming duties. It’s definitely a lot different than Dakota’s voice, and I’ll never pretend to be his replacement, but for us I feel like it feels fresh and fits our new music very well. Only time will tell if fans will like it or not, but regardless we’re just doing what we’ve always done: writing and releasing music we genuinely enjoy listening to. And we will continue to do so until the wheels fall off. Much love to you for always listening, even when it hasn’t always connected with you. Hope all is well with you! ❤️ Tyler.

Crazy they finished this before he left cuz the lyrics almost sound like a goodbye to Dakota ….he’s really gonna be missed ….his voice was so soothing

This song was really beautiful...hearing about Dakota's departure was really heartbreaking since I really enjoy his vocals and that is also why I love Convictions song Stigmata, since he featured in it. I am truly hoping maybe he will start Elan Vital back up!

Actually really good. Really sucks that Dakota left Hollow Front as I have been a fan of them since 2021 but I can totally understand why he left plus this is a good closer to the Dakota era of the band and I'm really excited to see where they go next

I'm not massively familiar with HF, only heard a couple of tracks so I don't have the context really on how the band usually sound and what they will be moving onto. It was a nice track, not sure if it stood out to me enough to compete with all the amazing music we have been getting this year. Definitely did enjoy those clean vocals a lot though and there were some very nice riffs! Curious to hear the other final track with Dakota!
